North East Weather Updates

We've missed most of the bad weather so far up in the North East, so still hopeful there'll be no disruptions to Saturday's game at Gateshead.
It's been snowing a bit through the day today, but nothing sticking yet.
However there was a lot of black ice around this morning, and the forecast is to get even colder over the next couple of days, so a frozen pitch could be a problem.
Fingers crossed!

By all accounts they've spent a substantial amount (heard amounts of between 50 and 100k!) on their pitch since last season's disastrous campaign which involved them playing home games at other grounds in the north east. Surely they've bought covers as well!
Anyway from our club's point of view I imagine we're desperate for it to go ahead on Saturday, else it's a long long trek to go on a Tuesday night just before Christmas.

Fingers crossed that if it does get called off, it will be before 8:30 when JohnC's Limo heads north!

Frost not so bad this morning, so if the game was being played Friday it would definitely be on.
Pretty confident now it'll be OK for tomorrow, although the forecast for tonight is for it to get even colder

Do you think it's more the frozen pitch than anything else that gets the game called off, been informed it drains very well.

Isn't there an earliest time of 10am before there can be an inspection unless it's a forgone conclusion, seem to remember last season, we all knew the Sheffield away game would be called, but league rules meant there couldn't be called off earlier

Looks pretty frozen on my front lawn this morning but I'm too old to venture out just yet to see if it'll take a stud.
For everyone travelling I'll keep an eye on the Gatesheed sites to see if there is any news, but take care on the way up and hopefully I'll see you later.
