Many of us speculated on here about whether the performance against Workington was an opportunity missed to bring back those many extra faces. Unfortunately today we seem to have the answer.

Workington 768
Sutton 321

Maybe a decent cup run could entice a few to give it another go.

Cup runs are often the way that clubs can improve the gate. If we can get through a couple more rounds to the 4th qualifying then you get into Conf National territory. To get someone like Kiddy at home would see a big crowd.

However, in the meantime, just getting through should help us, a home draw would definitely spark interest and we need to push it like we did for Non League Day.

i think we missed out on a few with Smethwick being at home and that club that won the European Cup once playing at Anfield

Correct, considering Sutton didn't bring many that's a decent crowd for an early round of the cup.

Roll on the next round!

We should be back to 350 I reckon on Tuesday.

I counted 10 Sutton supporters, which is awful considering they should have been coming to us to claim a scalp considering their league position. They're obviously doing a lot of good on the pitch, shame there is nobody to see it.

Non league day was a fiva to enter and yesterday cost ten pounds, maybe that has something to do with the difference in attendance?

I thought it was a decent crowd considering WBA and Villa were playing and the fact it's an early cup game.

If you observed the none league crowd there was a lot of families and friends or groups of people.

The cost of the kids is not an issue but suddenly to expect all the adults to fall in love with football, Halesowen Town FC after one game is unrealistic.

As said Baggies were at home that takes a few off.

Maybe (we will never know) if we had agreed to charge Sutton prices we may have a got a few more few the gate.

Sutton do not have a home fan base of any significance so would never expect many away fans. Last season in the league they had a few teenagers and a drum not seen today.

Most people in Sutton that I know of are pure Villa and nothing else.

I'm trying to recollect who that was - at the moment I've ruled out the Clay Heads, the Tesco bags and Small Heath. ::)
