Yeltz home games in relation to WBA & Villa fixtures:

Post by RaidenYeltz » 06 Aug 2014, 13:50

Bored on my lunch, hopefully some will find it useful but I've compiled a list of fixtures showing when Villa and / or Albion not playing / playing away when the Yeltz are at home.

Only looked at the fixtures up until end of December, I don’t think Sky have had their mitts on the TV schedule past that date yet?

I’ve also not included non-league day or Tuesday night games – neither Albion or Villa have any scheduled weekday Tuesday games.

- 23rd August - Frickley, WBA away, Villa at home but KO at 12:45.
- 30th August - Blyth Spartans, WBA away.
- 13th September - FA Cup qualifying, Villa away.
- 27th September - Whitby Town, Villa away and WBA not playing until the Sunday.
- 11th October - Marine, Villa & WBA not playing, England play, presumably?
- 18th October – Stamford, Villa away & WBA not playing until the Monday night.
- 1st November – Matlock Town FA Cup Trophy game, Villa playing on the Sunday and WBA away.
- 8th November – Ramsbottom United, Villa away and WBA play on the Sunday.
- 29th November – Curzon Ashton, Villa away, WBA at home but KO at 12:45.
- 20th December - Skelmersdale United, WBA away.

Interesting reading, and lets be honest it is quite favourable for us.

Yep, quite a number of games where Villa and Albion aren't playing. That didn't seem the case last season?

Could be wrong but the majority of Halesowen and local surrounding support is Villa or Albion. Or certainly seems that way.

Better away followings coupled with the above should see (touch wood!) a good increase in attendances. Again.

What about Birmingham? A much bigger club than Sandwell Town or the Vile! ;) ;)

I can't see that far down! ;)

On a serious note, I get the feeling there are a lot more Albion / Villa fans who live locally than Blues or indeed those orange lot in Staffordshire.

Albion won the Championship in 2008. I class that as a major trophy! ;)

I also class the Birmingham Senior Cup as a major trophy! ::) Blues and Baggies winning it twice in the 21st Century which still leaves Villa on 0. :-*

Three more than the Vile then!

I only replied to create some banter- can't think of ten Blues fans at The Grove! ;)
