Hi yeltz fans.

I'm a bluenose who is shortly to become a father (2/3 weeks). I was thinking about time I could spend bonding with my son just the two of us (I would say baby/daddy time but that sounds too cheesy )

Anyway, as I'm local to Halesowen in cradley I thought Saturday football would be good for the bonding time but it's not practical to go to st Andrews with a baby so young, so I thought I'd look more local.

Apologies for the long introduction, but now you know my situation, I was wondering how 'baby friendly/practical' the ground is , would I be able to bring a pushchair, is there a club house suitable for changing, somewhere to sit before, during and after etc.

Basically, I just need the practical aspects to be there and there will be another season ticket holder for the upcoming season

Any thoughts would be appreciated, cheers

Yes push chairs are welcome, you can sit in the bar pre and post match.

As my kids are 21 / 23 no idea about baby changing facilities but others have been in with pushchairs in recent seasons plenty of space on terracing for you to watch as well.

You'll be absolutely fine and we're a welcoming lot. Ideal place to do the bonding and take a game in.

Maybe try the friendlies and see how you go but it'll be far easier than trying at a league ground.

I've seen many people with pushchairs around The Grove so I'm sure it is baby friendly. Although I think to get to any other stand other than the side terrace may involve one or two steps but I'm sure you won't have too many problems

Pooley, congratulations in advance for your nipper. Coming to The Grove will be an upgrade compared to St.Andrews, so don't worry there. ;-) You'll be made most welcome at Halesowen, even from those of previous claret and blue persuasion. The only thing you may struggle with is a baby changing facilities, I don't recall seeing one?
Washy002 might be able to advise there as she brings Jnr.Washy with her for most home games.

Another thing to add Pooley is that although some parts of the ground involve a few steps, the more friendly nature of non-league football means that people are generally willing to do the public spirited thing and help you round obstacles, where that is needed

I'm not one who keeps up with goings on in non league, I usually stick to prem / championship so I've got a bit of reading up to do but the warm friendly responses have helped me along thinking I'm making the right choice...all I need now is nappy changing advice

There are baby changing facilities in the Yeltz Bar! Not a lot of use between 3 and 4.45 but could be used before / after!

Pooley, as you can tell from my username I had loyalties elsewhere. 18 months ago I was a season ticket holder in B6. Nowadays, I'm 100% a Yeltzman being a season ticket holder and going to as many away games as possible. I barely glance at the going on in Aston.

You'll soon pick up the non league way, you already have a headstart in the fact that the colours are the same for you. Yeltz fans are a friendly bunch and you'll soon get to know folk.

Pooley, I used to bring my daughter to matches in her pram/pushchair 30 years ago when I first started following Halesowen; she now brings her daughter in her pushchair. She uses the changing facilities in the Yeltz Bar just before kick-off and can then usually make it through to the end of the match.

As someone said earlier there is always someone willing to give you a hand lifting prams up the steps' the only difficulty you may have is trying to get into The Shed when its raining as the terracing in there is just too narrow to get a pram on.
