Runner up to Rushden on the last day of the season in the Southern League Premier, which at that stage was the same level of the Conference North now.

Amazing away record that year as well......Home form cost us the league something like 16-3-2 away wasn't we,home record wasn't the best,Sold Jim rodwell for a decent fee as well didn't we after season ended,Matt Clarke was impressive as well at right back....and goalie had an amazing run in goal cant remember his name as well at the moment..

So if we'd have best Rushden that day we'd have been promoted to what is now the Blue Square Premier (Conference).

Yep. Richard Crisp hit the bar in our 0-0 draw with Rushden at our place. If it had gone in and everything else stayed the same, Conference National football...

If, if, if, if...

We did win at their place, an amazing day. The draw at our place a little earlier ultimately did cost us.

If memory serves, Derek Dudley was the keeper for the first half of the season and the legendary Danny McDonnel after that. Chas?

Too late for Derek Dudley. I believe it was Mark Hart.

P.S. Three and a half thousand at the game at Rushden!!! We could have got that when we won at FCUM next season when we were both vying for the title. >:(
