“Friends of the Grove” - Monthly Draw Launch
We are pleased to announce the launch of the ‘Friends of the Grove’ monthly draw at this weekend’s game between Halesowen Town and Curzon Ashton. Supporters and local people are being asked to join in and support the club – whilst putting themselves in the frame to scoop the cash jackpot. We will asking for fans that wish to take part to fill out a standing order from at Saturday’s match from 1pm onwards in the ground.
About the draw…
You will all be aware that over the last 2 two years Chas Shakespeare has made a valuable contribution to the upkeep of The Grove. His monthly draw has contributed to the renovation of the floodlighting system and the purchase of vital equipment both for the care of the pitch and equipment for general ground maintenance. All of us that care about The Grove would thank him for his efforts, but sadly he feels that now is the time to step down.
It is vital that whatever future owners are at the club that the ground is kept in a fit and proper state. Owners of the club come and go, and as supporters we can do little about that, but whatever the future holds it is vital that these efforts are kept up.
We intend to set up a supporters ‘Friends of the Grove’ monthly draw to ensure this aim.
What will it cost to you?
The monthly draw entry is £10, taken by standing order on the 1st of every month. Should you wish to enter more than once, you can increase your standing order by multiples of £10; example 5 entries = £50. There is no limit on how many entries you can make.
How will it work?
Standing orders will be collected by the bank at the start of each month. Each entry is then entered into the prize draw. A draw will then be made by Rob Lloyd in the James Grove Lounge on a match day or function when there are fans in attendance who can witness the draw.
Results will be published on www.ht-fc.com where we will also keep track on monies raised and paid out for all to see. We will also list essential projects that we feel require work around the ground and what we aim to achieve. This will enable you to see what the money will be spent on.
What are the prizes?
Half of the money raised will go into the pot for prizes, the other half will go towards various projects around the ground as mentioned below.
Example, 50 entries at £10. Pot 500. £250 split between winners & £250 into the ‘Friends of the Grove’ fund.
What will the money be used for?
The money raised will go towards supporting the Football Club and projects around The Grove to ensure that the ground is kept in a fit and proper state. If you have a suggestion for improvements around the ground then please contact Rob Lloyd.
How do I join?
A standing order form can be obtained from Rob Lloyd which will contain a unique reference number in order for us to distinguish between all the different entries into the Bank Account. Please contact me by email on tuxon72@yahoo.co.uk or message me on here for a standing order form or download a form by clicking on the image on the main club website and return to Rob Lloyd or the Football Club.
Thanks for your support and good luck!
