Look more like a beach now, especially the one at the shed end. Can anything be done about this. I know the pitch is used a lot and the weather has been bad but the sand seems very deep. Think the defence/keepers sometimes struggle to get footing in the 6 yard box. Dont want to miss promotion due to losing a game because of the state of the goalmouths!

Doubt theres much that can be done and it's the same for both sides i guess. Of course the goalkeeping union may disagree. You're lucky its only the 2 metres squared central area within the 6 yard area, it used to be the whole pitch

Totally agree.
I mentioned the use of the goalmouths during halftime in "Belper Updates" - it seems stupid to further damage the surface for "shots in" purposes.

The goalkeepers simply need to warm up outside of the goalmouths, it ain't rocket science. If a set of goals on wheels is needed to the side of the goal mouths then so be it.

I doubt much will grow in the goal mouth's between now and the end of the season but I believe it is the clubs intentions to sort the issue out in the summer. The goal mouths are way too sandy and can only be sorted by digging down and replacing properly.

Hopefully though now we have a few weeks better weather the pitch will start to grow more quickly again. I know the pitch has been rolled a lot more recently than ever before which should hopefully provide a better playing surface.

I'm sure the club has a couple of portable goals they can put by the side of the pitch to prevent the damage of the goal mouths or even use cones if they have to! Is a goal that important? I'm sure the pitch is more important!

Not meaning to have a moan, but there are issues elsewhere. The seats in the Harry Rudge Stand for example...

The weather of the past x years has really taken it's toll on the seats. In front of the commentary box looks like there's been a surge of Millwall fans take over the ground! I think it's 4 seats that the backs of the seats have been snapped. The seats are very brittle and fragile and with the increasing attendances, it's only going to get worse.

But once again, this comes back to money. Does anybody know how much it would cost to have all of the seats replaced? If you do, I think I'd rather not know!

We usually replace broken seats during the summer, we have in the past used a dwindling stock of spares, I am unsure how many (if any) we still have, I know they are not cheap to buy. Maybe supporters could sponsor a seat with a mug shot of the sponsor on it
