Well it's a nice little bar that Halesowen have, with reasonable prices.
After todays game I think I should have stayed in there rather than watch the match. It would certainly have dumbed the pain!
What a disappointment after Weds night.
Ok, we lost the goal at an unfortunate moment when we were temporarily down to 10 men (probably wouldn't have conceded with 11) but Halesowen fully deserved their victory. After a slow and nervous opening 10 minutes they picked themselves up and showed more appetite and desire to win the game than us, all over the pitch. They never gave us time to settle and were appealing for everything. A big contrast to ourselves.
After praising JJ for most of the season I have to say that, today, he was too easily bullied out of things and came across as 'nesh' and disinterested at times. Most players have one or two poor performances a season - I hope that this one from JJ was his one for the season and he can come back on fire next week.
However, when one of your players is having an off day. it's up to the others to step up to the mark and, unfortunately that was not the case today. We were very laboured and couldn't seem to get to grip with the bouncy pitch.
Like I say - a big disappointment. Hope the players can pick themselves up form this. We're still behind you boys. Heads up, put it behind you and let's go again.
One last thing. The travelling support was fantastic today in its numbers, swelling the crowd to Halesowens seasons best and, I think, a bigger crowd than we've had in the league so far. So why then, did the usual Leek Town numbskulls decide to sing the classic 'xxxx Ground No Fans' chant? Brainless ! Come on lads, cheer on the team rather than diss the opposition.
