Current points to games ratio!

Post by RaidenYeltz » 13 Jan 2014, 16:09

At the moment in time we're averaging 2.24 points a game which ultimately would see us finish with 94.08 points. Yes, I know this is inaccurate way of calculating where we'll finish but it's just an interesting point. In my mind anyway! :P

The last 6 seasons the champions (and ultimately the team who clinch the only automatic promotion spot) accumulate the following points total;

2013 - Kings Lyn, 92 points.
2012 - Grantham Town, 93 points.
2011 - Barwell, 94 points.
2010 - Mickleover Sports, 89 points.
2009 - Retford United, 81 points. (38 game season).
2008 - Retford United, 99 points but didn't go up due to ground issues.

The teams finishing second accumulated;

2013 - Coalville Town, 86 points.
2012 - Carlton Town, 83 points.
2011 - Newcastle Town, 90 points.
2010 - Chasetown, 82 points.
2009 - Belper Town, 81 points (38 game season).
2008 - Cammell Laird, 86 points.

The teams finishing 5th accumulated;

2013 - Chasetown, 74 points.
2012 -Leek Town, 74 points.
2011 - Grantham Town, 79 points.
2010 - Sheffield, 73 points.
2009 - Rushall Olympic, 68 points (38 game season)
2008 - Grantham Town, 70 points.

The place of the team who wins the play offs;

2013 - 4th
2012 - 3rd
2011 -3rd
2010 - 2nd
2009 -3rd
2008 - 3rd (Highest placed P/O team, however, due to Retford winning the league but not gaining promotion because of ground issues!)

All means very little, but sure some of the statisticians find this at least a little bit interesting.

The only statistic I'm relying on just yet is that no team has ever been relegated with 56 points !!! ;)

That's a bit negative!

I thought mentioning another 6 wins with the odd draw thrown in should see us clinch a play off berth, would be seen as negative! ;)

So if we don't win the league we want to finish 3rd. According to the stats.

Nice bit of research.

Seen as you seem to have time on your hands (Mrs Raiden must be having a driving lesson ;) ) this season have we won a match where the opposition scored the first goal? ;D

From our 18 wins this season we have taken the lead in all of them.

We have taken the lead and failed to win the following;

Kidsgrove away; we drew 2-2. We took the lead both times (Haseley then Christie).

Scarborough away; we lost 3-1. We took the lead with Christie.

Brigg away; we drew 2-2. As with Kidsgrove we took the lead twice this time both from Ben Haseley.

We have conceded first and lost the following;

Sutton Coldfield home; lost 1-0.

Carlton home; lost 2-0.

Leek away; lost 4-1.

So the short answer to your question is; no, we have not won a game after going behind this season. League games that is.

Or another way of putting it; we have taken the lead in 22 of our 25 league games this season.

And no driving lesson. I work 9-5 and have a lunch hour / get my work done! :P
