The Yeltz league record for 2013, means little but is something we should all be proud of

2013 has been a really significant footballing year for me.
A year in which I have gained an amazing affinity to Halesowen Town. Travelling back from the game today it honestly never crossed my mind how Villa had done, I was buzzing so much about our win. To see our lads go into the changing rooms at the end of the game chanting 'we are top of the league' was brilliant. We have moved forwards in my short time of supporting the club significantly, credit to all involved with the club on and off the pitch. Let's stick together and give it our best shot. If promotion doesn't happen this season it won't be for the lack of effort from the players or staff that is for sure.

Really pleased for you AVFCYELTZ that you feel that way about Halesowen, years ago I wouldn't have dreamt that another club would take over from Man Utd, but as you have just posted about the players singing "We are top of the league" that's how much it means to them and these guys don't get paid massive wages, they give their all and have other jobs too.

Last night I commented on a Ben Haseley status on Facebook and have him as a friend, it seems strange as he plays for the club I love. The club is making such tremendous progress and if this season is as exciting as the end of last season then we are in for a treat though hopefully with more of a happy ending than last season !

I feel close to HTFC, closer than I ever did at United, you are not shipped in and out like cattle, have to spend money for membership, expected to buy the latest shirts etc. Though I still watch United if I don't have anything else to do on the T.V. Halesowen Town is my team, I just wish I could go to every game !

Completely echo AV's post above. For me hearing the players going in after the game singing 'We are top of the league' was brilliant. You really sense these players not only enjoy playing football but really enjoy and maybe even love Halesowen.

It's been a brilliant 4 months this season. Marske away was a brilliant experience despite the defeat. My first away game. Being with players and staff feels great. Ok I'm a bit shy infront of them but it made the trip fun. McKenzie and Joe Hull in particular make a brilliant effort to socialize with fans, well with me anyway! Ditto the two Kev's on the coaching front. It means a great deal. Far more than they realise.

Seeing Ben in the stands cheering us on speaks volumes also. I think every single player affords you time for a chat and none of them brush you off. Again brilliant in my opinion.

Brilliant start to supporting Yeltz full time. The last time I attended it was only the odd game during the days of Stefan Moore...2007ish maybe. But this is my first real stint and I'm so excited for next season so I can get my season ticket.

Winning helps but I feel it's more than that what makes me love going to watch Halesowen.

Here's to many more years of Yeltz. Hopefully under the stewardship of John Hill.

Up the Yeltz :)
