LLL , I've got it in my mind that we also beat another side either a League side or somebody like Oldbury United in a cup game at the Grove and it was well previous to any of the other matches mentioned.But I have very occasionally been known to be wrong, but not often.

As the thread mentions Tamworth and is based on reminiscing, does anyone remember the current Tamworth manager Dale Belford playing for Atherstone down The Grove?

I remember he used to have long hair in a ponytail, enjoyed clowning around with the fans behind the goal for the full 90 mins, and had such a deep commitment to entertaining that he would concede at least five or six every game.

I have to say (sorry, Doc) that I was quite pleased to see him doing well...as a manager

And to tie it into another thread, I believe his son plays in goal for them now.
