Hi All,
Well who could have scripted last night, get a goal, get one straight in the face, but at least got the result.
Latest news is, Hospital last night, again this morning to see specialist, but with so much blood within the eye cannot determine the amount of damage.
As it stands until they can see the back of the eye he is unable to fly, says he will keep getting checked until Tuesday, if cleared all okay, if not Caribbean will have to wait.
Sunglasses may be order of the day for everyone on Saturday, and all the lumps and bruises on him will be Lisa`s doing.
They are both aware of your kind wishes and I will keep the site informed with updates as we know more.

After Ben went off last night most fans behind the dugout commented on how the injury might affect the wedding!
It's sod's law that in Ben's last game before the "big day" something like this should happen.
Hopefully it won't spoil the occasion and, in future years, it might be looked upon with a wry smile.
The important thing is that Ben does not have any lasting damage to his eye.
Best wishes to the "happy couple" and enjoy the Caribbean trip - whenever it is!
Have a wonderful day, Ben and Lisa!

Hope Lisa doesn't beat him up too much as I think he is suffering too much.
Why do these things happen to the nicest people?
Here's hoping that by Saturday things will look much better, and that Ben will be donning his thong on a Caribbean beach next week.

He had no need to go for that ball last night, he just never gives up, and is an absolute true gent and professional and we're sure lucky to have him at Halesowen.
I hope for his sake it's just a real bad external cut and his eye is ok. Let's hope it doesn't ruin there big day, the photos will be fine, most good photographers will be able to airbrush in a healthy looking Ben once he's got his normal looks back!

Last game before his wedding and gave his all. Sums the lad up to a tee. Seeems a genuine and decent lad. Couldn't speak high enough of him. Said it on the other thread, but wish him and his Mrs the best day and an even better hooneymoon.
Hope he is ok and nothing serious occurs with the injury.

Any news on Ben? The Halesowen News is reporting that he lost site in the eye shortly after the injury.
Fingers crossed that he has made some improvements for his and Lisa's day on Saturday

Ben reports better news today. He's been back to hospital and they're happy with how the blood is clearing from his eye. He doesn't need to go back on Monday and is now looking forward to tomorrow.
GOOD LUCK BEN & LISA!
