Another reason why I dislike professional football

I didn't see the Chelsea game, but managed the catch the last minute or so plus the post match 'analysis'. The analysis is yet another reason as to why I dislike modern day professional football.

Like I say I didn't see the game, but from what I gather Chelsea were in control and 1-0 up for around 70 mins then Basel came back and won 2-1. I saw their first goal and it was well worked...

Sorry for the waffling but my main point is why do people need to find blame and accountability? Why can't people say 'fair play, that team deserved the win' or 'that was a great goal, let's hold our hands up and admire it'. Do people actually care what Jamie Carragher thinks?

Without watching I could probably sumise that Chelsea got complacent...it's as simple as that.

Sorry for the rant but small things like this annoy me, things you don't get supporting Halesowen town. If we lose we lose, end of. There's no blame attached (unless we lose by a big margin and play absolutely awful?).

Problem is, too many think football was invented in 1992 when Sky got their grubby hands on football. In turn, sky feel the need to give us 24 hour a day news and analysis. I hate modern £ootball.

Different topic, but I don't blame Sky for ruining football...

Sky have helped in many ways. The vast amounts of money they invest could and should be more wisely invested by other means than lining the pockets of average footballers.

Think I've posted something akin before, but here's my view on Sky:

Football was pants pre-1992, with crowd trouble, dismal grounds and not a lot of money about with a match on terrestrial TV about once a fortnight
Sky said to all the Premiership clubs, "We're giving you millions, sort your bloody pitches and grounds out for the cameras"
Turned footy - albeit pricey - into a family orientated event
With maybe the exception of La Liga, the Premier League is the best league in the world with fantastic players, clubs and good attendances

Of course there are the obvious drawbacks, but I like the 24 hour in-depth analysis and they make even a mid-table-end-of-season clash like Xmas.
Apart from Gary Neville, Sky have done an amazing job for English football, and people hating them for creating a maybe too glitzy pampered top league are barking up the wrong tree, because the problems lie within the clubs, not the broadcaster(s).

Think of it like this with the Manchester derby on Sunday: 22 years ago, how many footy fans would have been twiddling their thumbs on a Sunday afternoon (remember nothing was open then except the Texaco garages) when now you can not only watch it in the comfort of your own home for a relatively small fee or pop up to the club/pub and watch it on a massive screen with your mates... you've never had it so good.

Veering off the thread topic I know, but I love Sky and IMO they have the best customer service in the UK
