The Gaffer

Obviously the win against Romulus is the highlight of the season so far, a real performance showing determination and some good quality football. However, taking aside the result tonight it's clear to see he has a real eye for a player. Green, Tilt and tonight Christie have improved the squad considerably.
I think we'll have a bloody good squad when all back from injury, hopefully enough to give us a cup run as well as a strong league campaign. So whilst it's only right the players are getting the plaudits, credit also to the gaffer!

You're right- the gaffer is working wonders and deserves a huge amount of credit for our successes on the pitch, as well as the growing support at the club.

For me, his work in the transfer market is 10/10. Whenever it looks like we need a new player in a certain position, he goes out and plugs the gap straight away. Out went Caines, in came Meach. When we lost Ecka and Gav (get well soon both), we bought Green and Tilt. And so on.

The squad he has assembled now gives us strength in depth, and I think that'll be very important during the early part of the season. We may need to chop and change the team due to the sheer volume of games. But we've got plenty of quality in each position now and I'd happily keep this set of players until the season end.

I trust his judgment 100% and hope his reign at the club continues for a very long time.

I think he has done a great job with the players he has bought in, gives the lads some competition. I think the depth in squad John has bought in is what you need with injuries and possible suspensions along the way, i don't think i have seen a bad substitute so far. Also Griffiths has done a brilliant job converting to left back, he was first to nearly every ball last night.

There seems from a distance to be good squad morale, a lot more than last season. If you look at all the tweets from the players regarding our matches and performance they all seem very passionate about HTFC, and want to perform well for the club and each other.

So far so good....

Yes, we tend to forget that less than 12 months ago it was very hard to be a Yeltzman.

Only 7 games into my following of the Yeltz.
But the effort and commitment shown is refreshing. The manager Mr Hill shows great passion and that does show through the team. Last nights display was worthy of a 4-0 scoreline.
Ben as usual ran the front line brilliantly. With the other 7 players putting a great shift in.
Would like to single the other 2 players out who to me shine on many fronts.

Brendan Kelly a worthy captain!!
Vocal very (lol), solid in his challenge, good leader!! Great game last night.

To me thought Matt Martin (wore number 7 last night) was awesome!!!!
Covered every blade of glass. Doesn't shirk a challenge. Good use of the ball. Decent going forward.
Old fashioned midfielder who keeps the midfield engine room ticking over.
Worth the entrance fee alone last night to watch him.

Regards

Marcus

I would rather have Paul Evans with the captains armband than Brendan Kelly. I mean, I agree he is very loud, but I prefer Evo as captain.

Matt Martin is an awesome player, I agree with everything you say, but as Jose Mourinho once said, "I hate to speak about individuals. Players don't win you trophies, teams win trophies, squads win trophies."
