Firstly, applause to those who are giving their time and money to renovate The Grove and The Shed. Probably one of the places on earth where I've been happiest (and most miserable).
Now, it's The Shed and always will be, but perhaps we could take the opportunity of having the scaffold up to give it an official name as well?
We have "The Harry Rudge Stand" and rightly so.
We had the "Scouse Memorial Chip Caravan".
So maybe we should give The Shed an official moniker as well?
It needs to be a true legend of the club, past or present, and someone who deserves to be remembered for time immemorial for their contribution.
Nice PR opportunity for the club as well, at a time when people are thinking about season tickets and commitments for the upcoming season.
Unfortunately I don’t think that we can afford the paint to call it the “Costas Xiourouppa Shed End”.
I may be alone in thinking that “The Bloke Who He Who Shall Not Be Named Signed Who Had To Get A Taxi From Where His Car Had Broken Down And Missed The Start Of The Match Shed End” is a good idea.
Or maybe “That Scandinavian Geezer Who Refused To Come Out For The Second Half As He Hadn’t Been Paid Shed End” has a certain ring to it?
Thoughts?
