An Idea...

Firstly, applause to those who are giving their time and money to renovate The Grove and The Shed. Probably one of the places on earth where I've been happiest (and most miserable).

Now, it's The Shed and always will be, but perhaps we could take the opportunity of having the scaffold up to give it an official name as well?

We have "The Harry Rudge Stand" and rightly so.
We had the "Scouse Memorial Chip Caravan".
So maybe we should give The Shed an official moniker as well?

It needs to be a true legend of the club, past or present, and someone who deserves to be remembered for time immemorial for their contribution.

Nice PR opportunity for the club as well, at a time when people are thinking about season tickets and commitments for the upcoming season.

Unfortunately I don’t think that we can afford the paint to call it the “Costas Xiourouppa Shed End”.

I may be alone in thinking that “The Bloke Who He Who Shall Not Be Named Signed Who Had To Get A Taxi From Where His Car Had Broken Down And Missed The Start Of The Match Shed End” is a good idea.

Or maybe “That Scandinavian Geezer Who Refused To Come Out For The Second Half As He Hadn’t Been Paid Shed End” has a certain ring to it?

Thoughts?

....good one on the Erik Hummel one, although 1.45746 appearances surely counts him out.

We could have 'The Vowler Over and Out Stand' or paint a bullseye on the top of it and put 'Snapper' in the middle of it.

its a thought, the plan is that across the top front of the shed the 2 companies paying would have their names
in large letters one each side of centre but with `THE SHED` in centre seperating them. it can just as easily be any name there (if i could have gotten one sponsor only the shed would have been named after them but as the cost of doing the shed up (at last, its been bugging me for years!) is several thousand pounds no one company would/could pay) but this means it gives us a chance to give it a name!
have to be quick though, the work started this morning and the top, at least, will be finished by weekend, `spencer signs` (one of the sponsors and who`s staff are doing work) may have already had the signs made

Colin "The Shed" Brooke's excellent idea for the main part and there could be another name for a section that "Joins On" ;)

sad, isnt it that all the heroes we can think of to go on shed are from the 80`s/90`s either thru problems at club or the fact that no player seems to want to stay anywhere nowadays?!
...to think another season or two and `BEN10` would have been the name on the shed!

I had thought of this before I saw all the latest replies that perhaps the shed could be named after someone like Dave Parker (I do now realise that this reply may seem irrelevant but it was just a thought)

Couldn't agree more - Colin's efforts for HTFC deserve it. 8)
