News from today's Northern League AGM, in 2014/15 the First Divisions will operate on an East/West split.

Interesting....on the presumption we would be in the West, that sounds like good news as all our trips would be North on the M6, whereas all our long journeys were to the East last year.
Would that make Lancaster the longest trip in distance ? If so only just a tad over 2 hours, whereas Lincoln, whilst less miles, was a lot longer travelling time.

For a couple of years I regularly travelled to Lancaster, best time was 1hr 40 mins on a Saturday late afternoon but once had a nightmare 5 hour trip on a Tuesday morning . Nice city and Morecambe a few minutes further on, Eric statue etc

Conflicting views as to whether this is definite or up for discussion

I think it was a proposal. Would love to see the revised version of the league now to see how much a difference it would make.

it is `up for discussion` seems the travel milage, north/south or east/west has never been closer...anyone work it out?

I may have a closer look later, but I'd be extremely happy with an East/West split - eyeing trips to Kendal and Lancaster which are less than 100 miles away from me in the proper North

I'm led to believe that league cup rules are changing.
One leg with no extra time and straight to penalties.
There will be two teams relegated with no reprieve for the bottom team.
