Commercial Manager (Paul Collins)

Post by Yeltz1987 » 22 May 2013, 12:45

It would seem that the Yeltz have appointed a new Commercial Manager, Paul Collins (AKA Gabbie Cabbie).

Does anybody know when this will be officially announced, all seems rather 'out of the blue'.

He is tweeting from his own personal twitter feed and job title is on his bio...

Anybody with any details?

Like any announcement some take longer than others. Depending on the availability of volunteers on the website/committee etc to put something together in a short space of time. We all go to work etc too.

I'm sure something will be put together soon so I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for this.

It just seemed preemptive to start publicly announcing plans on a non official club social media page without everyone knowing about such an important role within the club....

Paul is very eager to do things for the good of the club and will devote a lot of time into something which has been hard to do in the past with limited time. Shouldn't see it being an issue with any fans.

As far as I am aware he hasn't announced any plans, just contacting people and showing what commercial opportunities we have at The Grove that are in place already. Any different plans will be discussed at a committee level first.

Last season we offered £25 commission to fans who sold advertising boards for the club, no one took advantage of this offer. Paul is devoting his time for free.

I think it's important to point out that Paul Collins is a supporter who has come forward to help the club raise much needed funds on a voluntary basis. He will not be on the committee and will help the club promote the sponsorship/commercial packages already put in place. Any supporter can come forward and volunteer their services, in fact the more the merrier!!

Paul like many others, myself included, use their personal twitter to promote things down the grove, the more people that know about us and what we have to offer, the better!

I would just have thought that if a new commercial manager has been appointed, the news would be officially announced by the club before the new man went public on twitter, an unofficial source of information as far as I'm concerned.
