Working Parties at The Grove

Post by yeltz85 » 19 May 2013, 21:42

We are pleased to announce that Ant Brettle will be co-ordinating the summer pre-season working parties at The Grove this summer. Ant is well known to many of us and has been involved with the Yeltz for a long time, spending many hours at the ground. Ant may be down the ground at other times stated below and can be contacted on 07582680680. We are always after new volunteers and skilled tradesmen to help our current volunteers so if you can offer any spare time then please contact Ant.

A list has been drawn for the work over the summer months at The Grove, there are many jobs to be done, including painting, weeding & other special projects. The working parties throughout the pre-season will be held on Tuesdays from 5.30pm onwards, Thursdays from 5.30pm and Saturdays from 9am starting next Tuesday 21st May 2013!

Quite a bit of grass cutting done tonight once the petrol was sorted for the mowers..

It would be nice to see a few more people down there over the next few weeks, many hands make light work and all that... Come on folks, even a couple of hours helps massively!

Already quite a lot has been done on the pitch and the next few weeks there is quite a bit of painting to do as well. There will also be work done on the stand behind the goal.

On a slightly different note, what a nice fella Ant is as well, he was very appreciative of my help and I was only there an hour and half!

Agreed mate. I will be down bright and early on Saturday morning for a few hours.

You will find though a few more people start to come down in June and the start of July when the season is getting closer. Good to see new people coming forward to get involved. ;D

I'll probably come along during june or july. I haven't been before but I like the idea of helping the club out. By the way I am doing the Duke of Edinburgh award which means I have to do 12 hours of volunteering to pass the award so if I do come along then I've worked a couple of hours off that ;)

I think it's great that people are happy to help out. However, have the club considered using some of the people who have to do Community Pay Back? The 'many hands make light work' theory would certainly be easier if you had a dozen people there all day painting, cutting grass, weeding etc

There will be a working party down the ground tonight. Plenty to paint inside in the dry. Get yourselves down and give Ant a hand...
