Strange to leave until and ask fans to go and clear the pitch easter sunday morning.

I also thought it was quite late, surely they run the risk of it being waterlogged with today's sun and it not being clear?

You would not expect fans to clear pitch on Christmas day so why Easter Sunday?

There are still some areas of the pitch which still need the snow cleared if you can spare any time in the morning

to lend a hand to remove the last of the snow please come down to the ground from 8.30am (mon 1st) .

Talk about leaving it to the last minute. Do they not want a bumper bank holiday Monday crowd?

Just glad it's not too far to travel, been refreshing their website the last 2 hours for info.

The reason it was left until Easter Sunday morning is fairly easy enough to explain. The forecast for the overnight temperatures for Friday/Saturday and Sunday were for -4 or -5 overnight, so if the snow had been cleared earlier then there was a risk the pitch would freeze (particularly on the side of the ground that is closest to the trees which is notably our worst part for the sun not getting to the pitch).

By the end of Sunday, the vast majority of the snow was cleared. We never feared the pitch being waterlogged after the snow, as, generally speaking our pitch has drained well this season. I hope those who came to the match on Monday will realise that, given the bad weather we have had this season, the pitch was in a pretty decent condition for 12inches of snow (and three batches of snow at least on it this winter!)

Given the conditions the pitch was in excellent condition. Moreover the feat once again proved why I love non league footie. Where else could you get unpaid volunteers turning out in freezing temperatures on a Bank Holiday.
