Obviously an enormous kick in the nethers for Poll and Doc, but i'm just disappointed in the continuous changing. It should be left to clubs to APPLY for change, not to be forced upon them. It is nice to feel part of a structure, knowing your destiny, be it up or down. Our situation just seems nomadic. If we were to win promotion we will probably end up in Conference North. Or the Highland League, Clachnacuddin anybody?......

Totally agree Andy, after all two years ago , I believe it WAS us that applied to join the Northern section, were accepted, but now we have been shunted back to where , two years ago, we did n't want to be. I for one would rather be driving up the M6, A38, M42 or M1 then in the opposite direction and although we 've seen the stats and mileages, there still seemed to be more nearer games in the Northern Premier.
My apologies to John C for posting , how did he put it ?, late on the following day.

Next season's FA dates

Presumably we enter the FA Cup a round later, the 1st qualifying?

Yes it's the first qualifying round for both FA Cup (Sep 13) and FA Trophy (Nov 1st) so we enter a round later than last season for being in 'Step 3'.

The sooner they decide on the Worksop saga the better as it could all backfire spectacularily in our faces, and leave us with no potential big gates against either FC United or Stourbr*dge !!!.
If they decide this on a purely North/South dividing line then Stour would be moved North and we would remain South. :o :o :o Unless I'm completely wrong the centre circle of Amblecote is actually about 1.1 Km North of the centre circle of The Grove :o :o :o

I can't see the FA keeping two teams just down the road from each other in separate leagues. If they do, since we played in the north last season and we were champions of Division One (since we beat Curzon Ashton in the Peter Swailes shield) I think it would only be fair to stick us in the north. This may be a long-shot, but if they stick either one of us into the north, then there's always a possibility of the FA seeing the sense in switching the other for Corby.

Stafford have replaced Kettering for a pre-season match on July 22. Nick Amos was recently announced as returning to Marston Road.

I am disappointed about the change to the Southern league. I only get to see Halesowen normally a couple of times a season but living near Mansfield, I have managed quite a few over the last 2 seasons so I was looking forward to a season in the Evostik premier.

I have enjoyed watching former Stags Iyesden Christie, Asa Charlton and Neil McKenzie last season.

Allocations are strange. Why were Scarborough in the South division last season when you have to go well past Ossett to get there who played in the North?

A few years ago Ilkeston were in the Southern league yet Eastwood were in the Northern Prem and their grounds are probably less than 2 miles apart.

It is a contrast to last season where no games were south of Halesowen as the only game north of Halesowen is Stourbr*dge (just).

My youngest son is just about to move to Bristol so I will have to try and plan trips down there to coincide with Halesowen fixtures in that area.

We were very quickly moved back to the North stagsman, so you can look forward to us in and around you again.

In other news, Shergar has gone missing.............
