Enlightening developments.

Sounds to me like we should appeal. There's a big difference between "we didn't check this properly" and "we did check this and were advised incorrectly". If we can evidence that this is the case, and that we did our due diligence, then I would have thought we'd have a reasonable argument to challenge.

Unfortunately I am aware that the league aren't the most logical of thinkers (a nice way of putting it) and, after other recent reprimands, they will make this hard work. But these four points could be critical to the future of the club, given that relegation could hang on it.

If that fails, then my other proposal is that we fire over some of our players to Sutton (I am happy to provide a list of candidates), tell them that they're on contract when they're not, and then let them take an even bigger points deduction for not paying attention.

I'm afraid that's your heart ruling your head. You really need to stop doing that. Quite apart from the fact that you didn't do your due diligence (in not confirming with Solihull's secretary), there is plenty of precedent for cases such as this - some of it in cases where clubs were as good as blameless - and it's overwhelmingly not on your side.

PS - I'm not being critical of HTFC here. The amount of paperwork involved in registering players and general admin is frightening. I'm only amazed it doesn't happen more often. Remember when Worcester City forgot to enter the FA Cup...?

Out of all this comes the sobering fact that we're all human and can make mistakes - unfortunately this one has bitten us on the backside.
There for the grace of God etc.........
More reason to get stuck in and beat Rushall on Saturday!
We ain't down and out yet!

I think we are. We've lost 5 in a row, just shipped 5 goals against a team that hadn't won at home since September, our top scorers from players still at the club have the princely sum of 2 goals, we're showing few signs of 'getting stuck in' (except for fouls maybe) and the only realistic rivals for bottom slot are now mproving and strengthening.

Statistically, it's slightly unlucky that we'll lose 4 points, as throughout the season we've rarely accrued that number of points over a 3 game sequence, but we did in this instance.

As TRM says, it'll be an open and shut case in terms of the rules, and the responsibility lies with us.
