There always seems to be an abundance of posts when it's something negative, meanwhile most of the highlights/photograph threads that are posted here every week rarely see more than a couple of posts, if any! There are positives in games, and there are negatives. It's a shame we rarely see the praise though.

One of my passions is live music, my taste is music is certainly not everyone's cup of tea. I know however, when I buy a ticket pretty much what I'm going to see. I know when I buy my ticket to see Marillion or Muse or for example I'm going to see some incredibly talented musicians who play their instruments with great skill and expertise. When I go to see Erasure with the Mrs (gaining brownie points only you understand) I know the music will be very different. (Thankfully). I'll understand that at the end of the gig I'll have two hours or more of cracking live music (or not with Erasure) and I'll have been entertained in every sense.

Now that is the difference with football, if I rocked up at The Grove expecting to be 'entertained' then I know full well I wouldn't be eight times out of ten because unfortunately in sport the Yeltz lads are up against a team trying to win the game also. It isn't rehearsed like in music or in a show, or a film. In sport and football in particular you can't plan what is going to happen, you can't set your play list and rehearse every detail of the game like you can a gig on stage where 95% of it is pre-planned.

I guess that is the difference with this 'clique' as you call it, we appreciate what John Hill is trying to do and maybe our expectations aren't as high knowing he has only a limited time to work with and improve his players, we don't go expecting to be entertained, we just want the lads to run through walls for us give all they have. If we had the funds of other clubs I'm sure you'd see with all due respect to our players better players, playing better football. We obviously don't and clearly JH is doing the best he can with the tools he has been given. The guy has worked tirelessly to get us to where he has and is continuing to do so. Go and speak with John, go and have 10 minutes with him after a game, he's approachable and will talk to you about some of the issues he faces as a manager of non-league club. He obviously can't put everything on facebook or twitter but if for any reason he wasn't here Halesowen Town would be a poorer club because of it. Do I think he's got everything right? No, he hasn't, he's made mistakes, but so has Mourinho, Ferguson, Shankley, Robson etc etc... and their football hasn't always been entertaining either...
Rob, I'm a musician........

Whilst I get what you are trying to say it really isn't like that
What isn't?
Your idea that music is always rehearsed and you know what you are going to see. It's about the most unforgiving profession you can be involved in. Far more unforgiving than football or most sports. Like sport, things go wrong and you have to adapt in performance. The two professions are incredibly similar

John has been loyal to the club and turned down several offers to go elsewhere over the years so it's a two way street and the club will be loyal to him in return. I said this at the forum also but you were busy I will repeat it on here for you.
That's very pleasing to read. John's a very good manager and I (as well as the people I go to the games with) want to see him around as long as possible.

Having read these posts and I have no particular opinion either way but it strikes me the question being asked is if the club ever felt that things could be improved in terms of form et cetera by a change of manager would they be willing to make a change? As Steve has indicated that he hates losing I assume the answer to this question is yes. Clearly we haven't reached that point and we may not for some time to come but if and when we do I'm sure we will be informed.

Can't argue with that, John has done a fantastic job since he has arrived here (especially the league winning season and last year up until we reached 50 points), and may that continue. I do feel things could be better at the moment, but I'm not anti John Hill, like some fans I speak to.

What I will say / ask, is where do you draw the line in terms of loyalty? It's all well and good being loyal to an individual but can you progress if you show blind loyalty, even if results haven't been good for a period (if / when that happens), I don't want to see loyalty if it becomes a detriment to the club.

This is a semi-pro club, don't forget, not Sunday league!

(Just read Wheel's post, which is a similar point to above).

No more debate, Raiden!

This was a thread on attendances and the cynics have decided to use the poor crowd on Saturday to support their own moany agenda.

Let's put the emphasis on getting a good crowd down the Grove for Saturday, where we have a very good chance of getting three points!

I thought the whole point of a forum was to have debates! ;)

I'd love to see a big crowd down the Grove, I think given the right circumstances, we're more than capable of getting over 500 on a regular basis. If not more.

I'm sorry but this is not fair. People have legitimate concerns about the attendances and raised them. They are entitled to an opinion.

On another point. Dazzlingdazza, last night it was you who raised Griffiths so I asked a perfectly reasonable question in reply and got told I was a waste of time. As somebody who would happily help the club and have done so in the past, I so far haven't and won't be joining the FOTGSA, or attending any of their events until I see their main members treating people with the respect and consideration they deserve. And i mean everybody, not just those who agree with them. The way I have been hounded on here, and seeing people being called "twats" on social media for not turning up to the forum for example was a disgrace. A main member of a supporters association should not be doing that. I wonder why those people didn't turn up? It's an intimidating atmosphere and even though you say "everybody is welcome", it appears this is not the case if you don't agree with the majority. If me not joining means I am not supporting the club in your eyes, so be it, but out of principle I won't consider joining until things change drastically. And I know a few who feel the same.

Its great being a naive simpleton. I was pondering yesterday over whether 250+ mad souls who turned up in awful weather to watch a game against a team who had beaten us 6-0 a short while ago, was good or bad. I wondered why we played better second half than the first (again). Wondered how I would have felt as a player having to play again in such bad conditions and not knowing whether to play smart and attractive, or hoof, whether to shoot when I had the chance or try to play like Arsenal and knowing that the options included applause or whingeing. As a businessman I also know that it is better to have money in the bank (from the home games we have played now) than to hope it comes in later - managing it is just cash flow stuff. There is more pondering to be done on Saturday when we play a team at the bottom of the league - way way below us. I would like to get involved more and change more but I only pay 10 quid so although I think it's 'my club' - for 10 quid a time it isn't. While all this pondering makes my brain hurt at times, it is comforting that I don't feel half as bad as those so involved that they don't seem to get any enjoyment from watching 'their' team any more. Hope if this applies to you that you can find a way of enjoying it again soon.

I explained that there wasn't really a position for Chris Lait in the starting line up last season because John Hill changed the formation, instead of playing full backs and wide midfielders/wingers (Chris Lait's position) he played wing backs with Griff and Green, forgive me if I am wrong but Chris Lait is not a wing back. Hence why he wasn't in the starting line up.

John Hill just happens to be the best manager we have had in a long time and forgive me if a few of us don't want him hounded out of this football club.
