Whilst I think it's pretty certain we won't move, it looking a bit chaotic in the division below.

Norton, Rainworth and Brigg (who admittedly faced certain relegation) have all resigned from the South Div and Tividale face a possible compulsory relegation too, so there could be a few relegation reprieves. http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/non ... und-rules/

Does anybody know the reasoning behind Brigg 'resigning' when they were relegated a month ago?

With Marine’s miraculous escape (so only three NPL teams relegated), Stamford also surviving and Colwyn Bay/Hyde relegated, the geography of the latest projections is still pointing south for us. The politics of course are a different matter, so any movement could be the Stamford/King’s Lynn duo instead. There are also assumptions from remaining play-offs, so the regional Southern League Central play-off final for Bedworth (at home to Barton) needs watching. Similarly, Sutton Coldfield could yet edge out Leek/Gresley in the Div One South play-off final. Both Sutton Coldfield and Bedworth could be considered as either Northern or Southern.

I personally would hope that we stay in the Northern Premier League as the quality of football and supporter is much better. Although we made some good friends in ChipsNHam, Clevedon etc the banter and friendship shown, especially this season, has been superb. Kings Lynn have always said they want to play in Southern League, let them go, I'm already looking forward to a trip to Leamington next year.

As it stands, because of Marine's reprieve (not confirmed yet, but it will be) there are 25 teams in the NPL Premier next season, so it's a similar situation to last season, after Worksop's resignation, but in reverse. Essentially, one team needs to be transferred to either the SL Premier or Isthmian Premier, OR two teams that way, with one coming in return.

My money's on one of the following possibilities:

1. King's Lynn transferred to the Isthmian League, maybe as part of a bigger reshuffle between the Isthmian and Southern Premiers.

2. Us and you moved back to the SL with either Kettering or Bedworth (if promoted) switched to the NPL.

Factors to consider:

1. Workington's failure in the play-offs. King's Lynn to Workington is a horrible trip and KL are fed up with it!

2. If Truro win the SL play-off final it would remove the possibility of King's Lynn having to go to Truro and make it easier to put them in the SL.

3. On the other hand, Stamford stopping up at least means KL is not as totally isolated from the rest of the NPL Prem as it would have been had Stamford gone down.

EDIT - Whatever happens, I am 100% certain we will be in the same division.

Sutton C won, so I really hope they and Bedworth go South and we stay North. It makes more sense to change the promoted teams and not the incumbents.

Darlington won too, so that would be another lovely trip to the North East

I don't think you can hope to stay in Northern Premier league and also play Leamington.

Personally I would prefer the south. If Bedworth win their play off on Monday it's more possible, but the odds would be reduced if Barton Rovers win.
