I think Newport County had gone by the time we played Newport. Latest thought - were Merthyr ever in the league - back in the 1920/30's?

Teams we've met in the league, FA Cup or Trophy that have played in Europe

Cardiff City
Newport (as County)
Gretna
Merthyr Tydfil
any more?

And to get really daft, including Senior Cups
Stoke
Blues
The other lot
Wolves

Not sure if we've played the Albion in BSC and Coventrys FACup win came when we were banned from Europe.
Any more?
I sometimes worry about my memory. We have played WBA in Bsc. 3 times. And I went to all of them. ::)

Newport reformed in 1989 we played them in the 90s then they went back up afterwards.

This is a real toughie. I think it is just Worko today who fit your Draconian criteria.

I'll have a bit more of a think about it and then push you into the harbour when I come to Valencia...

Oooh tenuous again me thinks. Merthyr Town played in the Football League, then folded, then reformed as Merthyr Tydfil. And since we last played them have folded, and reformed as Merthyr Town. Not very original. ::)

So close. Played there twice. Once in the FA Cup, once in the Trophy.

I was about to acknowledge a history-defeating suggestion but ..... have we ever played them in a league match?
