Re: Taxi for Shaun Yes Or No
andy is right, its not about who runs the club or team and the opinions of the supporters are always varied (as when one chooses man of the match) its down to : you offer a product to attract `customers` and they give you money for that product, then others see you have those customers and give you money to advertise their products/services to them. its not the supporters who slag off the manager at the end of the match or just go home and moan at their partner or on the forum that are the main concern its the 100 or so `ex-customers` (plus new ones)that we need (remember we had around 190 people inside the ground when there was a boycott!) we need that `product to attract`
what has happened shaun has done this season what was asked of him but i suspect that unless steve bought the club just for himself and family to watch (actually that will be a bigger crowd than most of this league get!) shaun will be asked for more next season (especially in `prize money cups`) now we know how poor the league is and steve now knows the passion and backing he gets from us all it may have been an idea to have asked for more this season while we had the 300 or so supporters, easy to say that now

Since Christmas: Played 17, won 5, drawn 2, lost 10. Which is significantly worse than before Christmas.dazzlingdazza wrote: Since Christmas there has been an improvement in results and in performances, what does baffle me is how 400 plus people can pay to watch the football knowing the money is going straight into the back pocket of the owner, where as we get 200 if we are lucky come where an owner has rescued the club, put his hand in his pocket to get the ground to a better state, yes we are in a lower league but for gods sake what's the matter with people???
With the crowds, we've got a hardcore of maybe 130-150ish people who will go regardless and the rest are casual supporters who come along when the circumstances suit. Perhaps part of the problem is we're in a god-forsaken league playing teams hardly anyone has ever heard of and losing more than we are winning. That's not a recipe for attracting casual punters in off the street. Unfortunately most people don't look at the good work taking place off the pitch and go because the owner deserves their support. Sadly, at the moment, it seems like a lot of people have better things to do with their £8 on a Saturday afteroon.

There seems to be some confusion around this answer to this question. So to to be clear and definitive, the answer is No.
I am of course, pleased to be of assistance again.
Also pleasing to see certain members of the forum extending their vocabulary and encouraging it in others. Well done Lutley.
Yours helpfully,
CB.

Maybe, after the Easter Monday result, the thread should read:
Minibus for the whole lot - Yes or No?

Time to move on.
The club was saved.
The stadium has been improved. Does and always will need money time spent on it.
Football is what we pay to come and see.
A manager with a clue is needed.
Quiet pre-season will not change Shaun he has had the whole season.
Loyalty for keeping the completing fixtures last season used up.
Stourport game pityfull.

Re: Taxi for Shaun Yes Or No
I really sympathise with those fans who have supported the team home and away this season and they have every right to vent their frustration, as they did on Saturday and on here. I really dont care who the manager is as long as we see decent football and progress and currently we aren't. Rather naively I was hoping that in the last 3 home matches of the season, with little pressure on results, we would see some skill and patern and ideas that might enthuse us all for next season. On Saturday all we saw was players playing out of position (or not good enough for the positions they played) and the same hoof and chase tactic the whole game. No changes in tactic and I felt really sorry for Reid, who must have felt like he was still playing for his old team, given that no one got near him or passed him the ball.
Perhaps if someone could explain why we only play one up front at home and employ such boring and poor quality tactics, those of us paying money and giving up our time might understand it. Currently 'we' (in increasingly large numbers) dont and no longer look forward to following the team.
Cant see any real reason why the current manager and owners cant use this forum to provide insight.
To those supporting the current manager, or indeed Shaun himself, it's nothing personal, we just still care but its been a b.....y awful season and it surely doesn't have to be this way.
Therapy over again!

Interesting comments as ever and all are entitled to yours opinions.
The one comment that concerns me is ' the club is saved' - it is in fact a work in progress!!!! If we stop this work in progress then we will rapidly fall backwards - Now more that ever we need folks / local businesses to come out and help us !!
Steve's influence (financially and otherwise) has been huge, as has that of the committee, trust and volunteers - all people that work to keep the club going, and yes I fully appreciate that not everyone can give the time that others can.
But when i read comments like this I do wonder whether or not it is done wind people up - if we all thought like this then I would fear for the future - fortunately we dont !!!

Re: Taxi for Shaun Yes Or No
What I would like to know is how shaun is going to move the club forward? If we can see that the quality of football is not improving so how will this change?? For why we are playing one up front is simple! We do not have another striker!!!
For me shaun has lost his 3 top goal scorers and persisted with nathan jones who by the way scored 1 goal in 18 or 19 starts!! I feel that if some fans like shaun as a person steve should employ him as a helping hand or academy manager and let someone who has worked with decent or similar budget and take the club forward!!

It is not done to wind up but deflect the excuses which are wearing thin.sprout wrote:Interesting comments as ever and all are entitled to yours opinions.

All businesses and clubs have bad periods, some cease, some survey and others move on.
Exercise on a treadmill and see what happens if you stop whilst it is still on and running.
Sometimes decisions have to be made and previous ones altered when they don't work out that's business and life.
