Yep.
And he took all the direct free kicks and penalties, and his near-post flick ons at corners lead to innumerable goals for the forwards.
Also, legendary catchphrases -
“Hold, hold”
“Stand up, stand up”
And
“F*ck off linesman”.

Didn't he save a penalty once as well?uncle jack and coke wrote: ↑14 May 2018, 18:28Don't forget he was also a very willing, and capable, stand in goalkeeper. It may be old age catching up on me but I seem to remember one match where our keeper got injured after about 15 minutes and Malcolm played in goal for the rest of the match. He kept a clean sheet as we went on to win 3-0andy wrote: ↑12 May 2018, 07:5380s, 90s. There wasn't much he couldn't do. As Doc said, without a doubt could have played a high standard of league football but we were just so lucky to have him for many years alongside the Joinson twins who I am sure you have also heard about. He could pick out a forward pass long or short at will, he could score all kinds of goals and he could get stuck in with the best of them. A great captain, an excellent player.
I'm really not sure how we kept players of that calibre so long back then, many who should have been playing league football. It's not that the scouting system was not as good because everybody knew about them. I'm sure if we have a player that good now they will be moving on via Stourbr*dge quite quickly.![]()

He once went in goal down at Cheltenham one night and there was an advertising board right next to his goal which bore his surname.

You forgot "no fouls, no fouls". Similar tune to '"hold, hold" I think.

The real funny "hold hold"s were when they were aimed at a player who was watching the ball sail about 20 foot over his head.

Now the takeover is complete, let's look forward to some football.

I make that a list of players who have signed on for next season. I'd hope / expect that list to increase quickly now the takeover is complete. Have I missed anyone?
