Re: Just to say.....
As I post on here, Twitter and other social media it's my opinion.
If it was an opinion under another guise then I would have posted it as such.
And I couldn't have posted it from the club's point of view as I am only a volunteer and such have no rights to do so.
I'm just a blerk from Sterk.

Re: Just to say.....
Posted on 18th April on this thread was an official thank you. Website also contains a thank you if you read all the posts on there.
Next step I guess is to hire a light aircraft with a big message trailing with it on ?
All is kind of irrelevant in my view for a few reasons. Firstly the Big Pet Store will continue to have 7 pitch side advertising boards & the shed end sponsored during season 2015/16. Therefore the connection between the business and the club remains in place. I'd also point out to supporters that this is being provided free of charge as another thank you for the support given by Mike and the big pet store over the past few years. This package is worth thousands alone.
Secondly, as Dave Hawley has pointed out previously, commercial partnerships are a two way deal. Both parties get a lot out of them. Is a public thank you for each and every commercial partner necessary ? Do certain partners deserve more appreciation than others ? Do businesses get involved with clubs for the ego massaging a thank you provides ?
We have been very successful commercially recently with supporters such as Stewardson developments & Halesowen self drive committing to a further 12 months. Both see the value of the partnership but don't want praise and recognition.
Sometimes the line between personal gain & commercial support is stretched.
So THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH to each and every commercial partner that has been associated with Halesowen Town last season and next. We genuinely do appreciate the financial support you give to the club and hope that you benefit from it in whichever way you see fit.

Wow, seem to have hit a nerve somewhere! I was simply asking if an official thank you had been put on the website that I may have missed, so thank you Chris for the clarification that there was that I missed! I'll scroll back through later and have a look!

Re: Just to say.....
Very interesting about the personalities involved. Just to add that in my experience, those of us who run small and micro businesses and choose to reinvest our own money back in the businesses, or spend our money on sponsorship, charitable contributions or marketing, usually don't do this for'ego'. Some words of thanks are therefore genuinely appreciated and in the well documented circumstances, I am pleased that it seems the club is now doing this. The capital letters in an earlier post suggest this is slightly grudgingly offered which is sad. As a tip and without sounding like an old man, genuine thanks are valued and usually cost nothing.

Re: Just to say.....
So, summing this thread up...
The Big Pet Store thanks everyone for their support in the last few years.
Fans thank The Big Pet Store and in particular Mike for his much needed support in playing a significant part in moving the club forwards.
The club thanks The Big Pet Store on the website, the match day programme and publicly at the awards evening.
Question gets asked, response gets given.
Is there really a story here?
