For those who have been to power league what type of pitch is it? I know its rubber crumb and if I'm honest I prefer the traditional mud and grass, no matter how many postponements

Not sure what it is. 3G with crumb on at a guess.

Hi Beasty,

Power League is advertised as 5G but I believe it's actually 3G as the differences are quite subtle. I think they use the 5G as a means of marketing but I don't think 5G was even around when that one was resurfaced.

I have to agree that I'd take the postponements to stick to grass and mud!

Excellent Doc!

One of the funniest retorts I've ever heard at a match.

"Where has all your grass gone Atherstone !"

" Evran has smoked it all!"

"Where's your grass gone?
Where's your grass gone?
Where's your grass gone, Atherstone?
Evran's smoked it,
Evran's smoked it,
Evran's smoked it, Atherstone!"

I'd forgotten that. Wonderful.

Hi Jamie,

Thanks for clearing my mind on that. In all fairness I'm not too struck on the power league's pitch anyway, and not because the crumbs of the pitch get into your shoes! ts not the best of pitches to play or run on and the ball doesn't move as good as it does on the natural pitch. I prefer playing with grass beneath my feet, and the Yeltz players probably feel the same too.

Did n't Penny at first refuse to play at Sutton in the mid week match because of the plastic pitch ?

I'm convinced the surface hasn't been kind to my ankle, having sprained it numerous times there.

Is that me or is it the surface?

In my mind grass would sort of absorb any impact better than astro which creates a jarring effect.

Probably just me!

When the surface is wet at power league it's skids off even more than on grass, so not always as easy to control passes and not the best for keepers.

A plus though You also get less chance of bobbly pitches on astro, so depending on the type of football we play could favour us. Too many bad bounces today didn't do us any favours today on a badly worn pitch.
