I hope not too but I think we need to be a bit realistic. He's done really well, bagged loads and clubs will be sniffing around. Very difficult to get a replacement or partner for him for that matter without silly (non league) money

Re: Season's Thoughts
Meddows was on contract at Bromsgrove, although I can't remember if it was just until the end of the season.
Paul Smith didn't do much right there in his second spell there, but putting him on contract was one of them.

He signed with an agent. I can’t see why he’d do that if he was planning on staying with us…

Also we seemed to concede less when willets played, think he would be good signing permanently, maybe play 3 centre halves with wingbacks

Re: Season's Thoughts
Almost certainly nonsense (but what else are football forums for?), but the rumour mill has it that there is interest from Hereford.

Re: Season's Thoughts
At the start of the season if you said we would lose at Telford 3-2 in a playoff i would have said we would have had a good season, Maybe we still did but i have a feeling we missed a golden chance for promotion this year JP moving to tamworth was a real blow if he stayed i think we would have got promotion one way or the other. Saying all that i don't think we are ready yet for the NLN so maybe not a bad thing in the long run.

Re: Season's Thoughts
I think we would have been ready for the NLN, as ready as Bedford and Telford will be.
Admittedly, you never know how it would go in a higher league. Tamworth breezed through it last season, Leamington were very comfortable this season, although Needham Market only lasted a season (but have very low support). Rushall also didn't last long, but again it's a club with really low support.
It's also very difficult to build and progress each season, unless you keep the good core players in place each season, which happens less at non-league level.
I expect Real Bedford will probably go straight through next season. They are lacking any real fan base which helps in a higher league, but have lots of money which could easily swing it their way. In that scenario, it would be play-offs again at best for us.

Yes I’ve said many times money isn’t everything….but it sure helps.juanillo wrote: ↑10 May 2025, 09:03I think we would have been ready for the NLN, as ready as Bedford and Telford will be.

Hearing rumours that Spalding are going full time !!! I would think they should concentrate on getting a fit for purpose ground first…but hey ho we’ve all seen too many times how a mega money individual comes in and when he gets bored with his plaything …crash

Exactly this… that’s why my early season predictions is that Real Bedford won’t see the season out. The moment the bitcoin boys get bored it’s crash bang and wallopold git wrote: ↑10 May 2025, 10:27Yes I’ve said many times money isn’t everything….but it sure helps.juanillo wrote: ↑10 May 2025, 09:03I think we would have been ready for the NLN, as ready as Bedford and Telford will be.
