Re: 24/25 Squad
I'm happy with that news.
However, I'd be a very much happier chappie if we could sign an experienced, proven, prolific STRIKER.

Indeed...but who and where from?lutleyyeltz wrote: ↑22 May 2024, 15:45I'm happy with that news.

In our division, Edwards of St Ives was comfortably the top scorer with 30 goals and he got over 20 in the previous season. The next one is Ebanks of Stratford with 23, but that was his first season.
Other Step 3 leading scorers were at Enfield, Merthyr or Gainsborough so geography comes into play as well. Also having a prolific scorer doesn't mean you'll win the league. I think it's better to have goals coming from several areas which lessens the reliance on one player.
If a player is a prolific scorer at Step 4, it is a bit of a risk. However. Miracle did well for his first season even if the performances were generally better in the first half of the season
If a player is prolific at Step 2 or above, it's unlikely they are going to drop down a level unless the money is too good to turn down, which isn't very often.
An exception is Wrexham who signed Paul Mullin in 2021 just as Cambridge United had won promotion to League 1, but he was happy to drop down two levels. I know we get bigger crowds than nearly everyone else, but we would have to go some to get a prolific Step 1 or Step 2 player.

Owen oseni played against us for nuneaton last year and then finished the season at rushall has been released by Derby would be a good addition but I think he may get a few offers elsewhere

Not sure if we’re keeping tabs on the exiles but Gregs has joined Walsall Wood (who have also acquired some other ex-Yeltzmen in Ash Carter and Kaiman Anderson) and Josh Ezewele has just been announced by Spalding.

Re: 24/25 Squad
I doubt it’s anywhere near Spalding!
It’s a surprising move, but there must be some method to the madness. They’ve signed a few from round this way so there must be a car share developing.
I’m happy to be corrected but I imagine he’ll probably just rock up for matchdays, and train separately. It’s a strange model but then I don’t suppose the player pool is that big in rural Lincolnshire and they have to think outside the box.

I suspect that might see Taylor out, unless we play with 3 cb'slutleyyeltz wrote: ↑24 May 2024, 14:14https://www.ht-fc.co.uk/first-team-news
