Re: connections
Strange how memory can play tricks on you. I really though Mark was with us for a couple of years and scored loads.Laurel Lane Lamper wrote: ↑05 Jun 2022, 08:20Mark Bellingham came to The Grove to be involved in the last 8 games of the 1995/96 season which ended with us pushing Rushden close for promotion. He only scored the one goal during that time but it was one of my more memorable ones. Down at Gravesend he ran half the length of the pitch to net in our 1-0 win and with 3 games then remaining kept us in that promotion chase. He returned for a similar spell at the end of the following season.
I can though still vaguely remember that goal at Gravesend. What an end to a season that all was.

Re: connections
I think Mark Bellingham’s still playing
On the Z, there is a striker doing the rounds called Zazi. He’s been at Rushall and Bromsgrove in the last few seasons. Would be great to loan him in, just for one game.

Re: connections
as most of you now know, the answers to my question was Jarrod Bowen and his dad Sam and
Jude Bellingham whose dad is Mark.
Mark may still be playing , I believe he was last known playing for some side in the W'ton sunday league.
Sam was an old fashioned centre forward akin to a bulldozer. Keepers must have hated him and counted their bruises after an encounter. I saw him put at least one keeper in the back of the net a la Nat Lofthouse. Sam did the rounds of sides in Hereford, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.Memory fails me but I think we signed him from either Bromsgrove or Cinderford. He retired and went to play rugby union for Lucton in Herefordshire where I believe in one season , he ended as leading try scorer.
Thanks to all who took part and commented.

I am pretty sure we signed Bellingham twice if I remember right.

Tracked him as far as 2019 playing for Southam. Can't find anything since. Think he would have been 43 then.
