Imagine what could be achieved if just 10% of that average attendance attended regular working parties?
If the figure was 10% Raiden then it would be about the same number as friends that you have on here
Has Yeltz27 attended a working party yet?

A sad end to what was a very valued Contribution both financially and with all the effort. Don't want to sound like a wise old sage but I hope Mike, Sarah and others actually remember all the great times they had along the way Rather than any anger they obviously feel now. Thanks again if they are still on this forum.

I appreciate your original comment was more tongue in cheek, as was my response. Apologies for any offence you may have taken - that wasn't my intention. You'll see when you return to the ground in pre-season how much work has been done and why I'm frustrated by the lack of people who don't seem to want to help out.

Yes I have in the past actually before you start making assumptions. I have said to Rob via pm that I would very happily attend the working parties. Sadly, since last season finished, I have been working virtually every time there has been a working party at the ground. If I worked nearby I might well have been able to but my work lately has involved ridiculous amounts of travel making it impossible

Steve, I will always be on the forum and will always be a Halesowen town fan. Angry isn't the right term, more upset, let down and betrayed (can only speak for me obviously, mike may feel different). I will still be at games next season and this is my club and always will be, although I won't be able to attend every game due a change in career that means Saturday is my day with my boy so won't want to be away from him every week.

Whether it was tongue in cheek or not, the "yeltzfamily" do need to be more careful in how they treat other fans. There are many fans, like myself and serpent, who have been going for many years and care about the club just as much as the yeltz family do. Not everybody will be able to attend a working party even if they want to. It doesn't mean they care less.
That isn't to say that I don't appreciate the work that the working parties have done. The ground does look much improved recently and for that we should all be grateful. But if you want to encourage more people to come and help, comments like those to serpent and the sarcastic comment from gingeryeltz to me for example, are not going to help you with what you want to achieve.

Yeltz27 - I'm not sure what your issue is with the 'Yeltz Family'?
You've mentioned this a couple of times now. Let me state this very clearly. When I type anything on this forum I'm not representing anyone other than myself. Not the Supporters Association not the Friends of the Grove but me. Admittedly I didn't chose my words too carefully with the sarcasm I put in my response and I apologised if the person above was offended in anyway. That certainly wasn't my intention. I'm not suggesting that fans don't care, we ALL care, despite our differences of opinion I was merely stating my frustration that suggestions were being made (albeit tongue in cheek) to doing further improvements when a hard core of 6-8 fans have been there religiously every Saturday (and numerous times midweek) for the benefit of ALL Yeltz fans. We are still doing stuff to the ground for the benefit of all of us. We're trying hard to make every Yeltz fans experience of coming to The Grove better. Ginger Yeltz is another Yeltz fan, what he says on here is what he thinks. I have no control of that? The 'Yeltz family' that you refer to isn't about half a dozen of us, The Yeltz family flag was purchased to represent any Yeltz fan that sees us all as part of one big family. We want people to see us as a family club. No one fan is better than anyone else. It isn't some sort of elitist club. My admission money is as good to the club as yours, as gingeryeltz and another Yeltz man and woman.
As fans we are all passionate about our club, and ultimately we all want the same thing. I hate politics, I hate cliques but I'm also long enough in the tooth to know they happen everywhere in life. I'd just like for my involvement in the Supporters Association to bring us all together under one umbrella - despite our differences of opinion. If my passion is misconstrued and you've been offended by what I've put on here then please accept my apologies. Maybe we could have a chat over a pint in the near future so I actually know who i'm corresponding with?

I think it's great that there are dedicated volunteers who give their free time to help the club without remuneration. There are not many people who would help out a business for nothing on a regular basis and this goes well above and beyond being a supporter. Volunteering to work for a registered charity is one thing, but there should not be the expectation that people should feel obliged to help out what is a going concern for free, when they already contribute from attending matches to buying from the club shop or purchasing food and drink on match days.
Yeltz27 has a valid point; not everyone can attend a working party whether due to personal circumstances, work, family commitments or geographical logistics and timing. The tone given out with some working party updates seems often to be one of resentment that more people should be there which I guess in its own way may deter more people.
Also care needs to be taken with written communication even to the small detail around the way a message is constructed; e.g. use of inverted commas and capitalisation can appear to patronising or shouting, when the intention of the writer may not to be.
Anyway I doff my hat to all the volunteers who work so hard. Imagine if Villa or Albion got free labour with just 1 or 2 % of their average gate (not that they need it of course).

It would take a fair number to make V*lla ark look nice. Or alternatively one person could do it with a bulldozer....
