Full time league players are often accused of having no loyalty; so as squad changes in non-league football are just as common, if not more so, than in league football, I am not sure why anyone would ever have expected much difference at this level.

Unfortunately, just because we see some players giving great effort week in week out for a season or two, doesn't mean they become dyed-in-the-wool fans and legends. They are always going to think of themselves first, and I guess most of us would be no different.

The revolving door at non-league level is borne out by checking the first line up from 2 seasons ago; I reckon there may be only one player left by the time next season starts.

If Paul Joinson can leave for Worcester City, any player can leave for any club. The choice of club in this instance is very disappointing but does not diminish my appreciation for what they have done during their time at The Grove

I'm with everyone else. Disappointed and disgusted. It just shows that although many believe players hearts are in it for us, they are just as mercenary as the top pros. Green and Tilt will be irreplacable at our level. I expected both may have moved to a higher level, and they would have gone with our best wishes, but this just stinks. Hope their careers take a nose dive.

And we've done it to them often enough - There's No Comparison, Snapper, The Thin White Duke, errr Shane Abell and Stan Jones...

Irritated that it's them lot up the road but not really surprised. With VERY VERY few exceptions, it's only fans that stay loyal to one place forever.

Fair play to them, thanks for what they've done, and I hope they lose every match 27-8 next season.

It's Tonks, not Tilt. Yet.

I loved Tonkshinio for his heart and passion, but we won't miss his shooting and passing. He was probably a bit short of pace and skills for this level and his throw was such a weapon that we were probably over reliant upon it, to the detriment of our general style of play.

See? Always a silver lining. ;)

I think it would have been slightly different though Doc if Stour were obviously on the up, with a bit of momentum behind them. This isn't a career move, its purely a few bucks.

Apologies. A couple of people had put THREE players and Curtis was mentioned in the thread. I then put 2 and 2 together to make 5. Very much hope Curtis stays.

I suspect he won't.

And yes, I agree that it's galling that they've gone for the money, but hey ho. Maybe STFC will use all this cash to get our old friend Morell in as an assistant?

No chance. They'll get him in to replace Sprackett when it all goes horribly wrong before Christmas.........
