Aaron Daniels has played at this level not too long ago - due to injuries and what have you he had to drop down a couple leagues. I think he sounds like a very good signing.

Building a team around work rate has served us well over the past 18 months or so.
I trust we will continue to develop as a football side using this strategy.

I think the same about Laity. Yet another skillful midfielder sacrificed for workrate. And who is to replace him ? Aaron who ? and who does he play for ? Is it a side several divisions below our standard, so how good is he ? I hold my disrespectful breath.
I understand your point to a certain degree, but my feeling is early doors Laity was outstanding, but the team weren't winning, Laity got injured, John changed the system, playing Green and Arron Griffiths as wing backs, thus making it the end in a way for Asa Charlton as well. This system is working, the team are winning as sad I am to see Laity go I can understand it. If we went back to 4 4 2 next week then I would be baffled !

In your own ways you are both right. In my heart, I believe that Ken is correct, but results speak for themselves with the changed way the team is set up. Added to that that he has the appearance of being injury prone, and there is a conclusion is that we have had to lose otherwise valued players like Messrs Lait and Charlton that don't fit into the new pattern.dazzlingdazza wrote: I understand your point to a certain degree, but my feeling is early doors Laity was outstanding, but the team weren't winning, Laity got injured, John changed the system, playing Green and Arron Griffiths as wing backs, thus making it the end in a way for Asa Charlton as well. And IF he was offered more money by Rushall, maybe the decision wasn't in our hands!

I know after we played them at their place they wanted Laity, I know a lad who played for them who told me this. It seems that they've waited for him after he fell victim to our change of formation.Johnny Bud wrote:And IF he was offered more money by Rushall, maybe the decision wasn't in our hands!
I think if Laity was playing he'd probably still be here but our 3-5-2 formation doesn't really give him a position. He isn't a wing back and without wingers he's not really going to play regularly. He's too good a player to not be playing for someone, but I personally don't think John should change a system that is working to accommodate one (albeit good) player. It's good to see he's left on good terms as well, who knows, maybe he'll be back at some point?

Unless it was money and we couldn't match it, then I think it's a barmy decision. The lad oozes quality for this level. Yes we are playing a system that is working and that's very pleasing, but losing quality is not.

I have since been reliably informed that he went for money. That is disappointing but at least it wasn't a tactical decision.

Hi yeltz fans, really nice to see the support of the faithful fans at halesowen. To those questioning why i left it definitely was not the money, it was purely down to lack of playing time. At my age and ability, i feel i need more game time to help improve my all round game. If circumstances were different and the clubs formations suited my position i would have stayed at halesowen, however game time was my priority. Just wanted to clear up a few queries I'd seen on the forum. Thank you for all your support over my time at the club, i have loved being a part of it and wish the club all the best. Thanks again LAITY!
