Come on, let's be positive!
I must admit I didn't look at the original link to see what the average attendances were over the years. My guess of 434 was purely random but obviously an increase on last seasons due to the fact of being in a higher league.

I like the sound of having '535' as an average and a chance of being positive. But I think there needs to be a sense of being realistic. As the saying goes 'Rome wasn't built in a day' and think its a massive ask to add an additional 160 people on AVERAGE. Where are these going to come from?

Of course there's the 'Non league Day' that we're looking to promote which hopefully will pull a few extra in with the right sort of promotion and of course the Easter Monday clash with 'them lot down the road' but those are only 2 games.

Crowds are always generated by performances on the pitch and if the lads can try and make The Grove' a fortress then this will bring the numbers in.

If the average of 375 applied to all games, except for the visit of our nieghbours and FCUM, and the attendance was say, 1,200 for each of those, the average would be 447. So I'll go for 472.

Stamford's average went up about 50% after promotion (admittedly from quite a low base), but King's Lynn's went down.

It obviosuly depends on how well the team is doing and how many away fans turn up.

King's Lynn will be bring a few and Ilkeston are quite well supported, but don't expect too many generally and two of the nearest, Rushall and Barwell, are well down in the average attendances.

Interesting to see the crowds from yesterday. Them lot from Shamblecote managed to get 415, and I would assume not many made the long journey from Whitby. Blyth had the highest crowd of the day outside of that. I know FC play away today and they'll smash the highest of the day but when I looked at the average crowds I see no reason why we could be the highest behind FC United and Kings Lynn. A big effort needed to get the crowds in over the next few weeks Yeltzmen and women please! Starting with Belper on Tuesday. Are Villa/Albion/Wolves playing, is it conceivable we could get 500 for our first home game?

Belper Town 2 2 Ashton United Att. 280.
Blyth Spartans 2 1 Grantham Town Att. 439.
Buxton 0 1 Nantwich Town Att. 260.
Curzon Ashton 1 0 Marine Att. 212.
Frickley Athletic 1 1 Rushall Olympic Att. 208.
Ramsbottom United 2 3 Kings Lynn Town Att. 322.
Skelmersdale United 1 1 Halesowen Town Att. 279.
Stamford 2 1 Workington Att. 294.
Stourbr*dge 2 1 Whitby Town Att. 415.
Trafford 0 0 Matlock Town Att. 182.
Witton Albion 1 4 Ilkeston FC Att. 381.

Only 761 at Barwell today., for a 0-0 draw. A lot of FC United fans refused to make the trip as Barwell messed them around with the rearrangement to the Sunday.

I'll be optimistic and say 494 for the average attendance. Hopefully we'll get around the 400 mark most weeks, and then we've got hopefully got at least 2 big gates towards the back end of the season.
