There doesn't seem much point in making the Carlton squad have to get together, as they would have to do so that they could get here on time, on the off chance that the pitch may be passed fit. Even if the snow does relent it will waterlogged surely. If there are still any global warming believers/nutters out there, please explain.

The league rules formally require us to have an inspection on the day of the match I believe unless started otherwise. Hence having to announce yesterday they're was a pitch inspection.

Thanks for clearing that up. It does seem barmy though to have to go through the motions when the outcome is only going to be one thing. As Carlton are not to know the situation here they would have had to prepare as if they were travelling, thus incurring a lot of unnecessary costs, which clubs at our level cannot afford.
