I see parallels with our situation a couple of years ago here. Many of our supporters felt that putting money in the pocket of a despised and morally bankrupt owner was not the way forward and voted with their feet (and ladders).

I would personally not encourage anybody to give any mony to this particular despot at Northwich (Jim Rushe). I would boycott this one on moral grounds and show some solidarity with the hundreds of Northwich fans who have chosen to turn their backs on this idiot and his sham of a football club / laundry business.

A difficult choice when the season is going so well but I think there are bigger issues in the game to be gnawed away at, in our own little way.

Just my view, but I'm always right.

CB.

Further, I found this site with associated forum which gives quite a passionate view as to why Northwich Victoria is not the type of football club encourage.

I seem to remember that our dire situation didn't deter many away fans from going through the turnstiles at The Grove.

Just my observation - but I wouldn't presume to always be right! ;)

Shame on them. If it deterred even a few, it all helped.

Here's a video that shows what solidarity means to real football fans:

200% view http://www.twohundredpercent.net/?p=18337

And the mocking arrogance of Jim Rushe showing the red card to the crowd in response.

I have every sympathy with the Northwich supporters and wish the new club well in their new home at Winsford next season

I didn't mind away fans coming to the Grove when we were boycotting - it wasn't their battle and they had travelled to see their team. Now that the situation is reversed, my mind is unchanged.

Prior to the boycott, at the Corby game which nearly didn't happen, my opinion of Corby fans was transformed by their reasonableness and sympathy for our plight - having said that, it was easy for them to be magnanimous, they were stuffing us 4-0 at the time

Well I have higher moral principles and will never knowingly support a regime so obviously unfit to be associated with football.

That doesn't imply that I don't have some sympathy for the pawns in this 'game'. For example, the Vics players.

One thing that defies belief for me is the fact that they do seem to have a small number of supporters left who actually choose to travel 40 miles each way to a 'home' match. I believe there's about 10 of them, all obviously still in denial.

Perhaps they just enjoy watching football?
Isn't it amazing that as soon as there is a chance to pontificate, regarding the evils of club chairmen/owners, the usual suspects find the keyboard again!

Jeez, some people have short memories.

Yes, perhaps they do just enjoy watching football. The world is full of happy simpletons.

CB,
Not a comment from your goodself, as far as I'm aware, regarding the team's performances thus far this season but, as soon as the opportunity arises the old tirade against the evildoers in the past comes out of the bag!
It isn't a case of me having a short memory, but of enjoying the fact that we came through it and there is a "feelgood" factor back at HTFC. There are quite a few newcomers to the forum, and The Grove, who are not going to let another team's misfortune stop them going to Northwich.

Just enjoy the here and now!
