Yes Ben Steane got a bit in his direction Saturday, not sure it was good banter for him tho

I wouldn't say I'm a new fan. I'm very proud of where I live - Halesowen. I've also gone to a few games in the past. Ok nothing regular but I've always kept an eye out in the paper etc. I suppose the big thing is having someone to go with and knowing when we play.
Before I didn't really know when we played. I know it's easy to find on the site but if it ain't thrust in your face you tend to forget.
I'm genuinely looking forward to tomorrow night. I haven't looked forward or felt this excited for a game in years. Small things like standing and being able to have a beer during the match really make a big difference.
Seriously tempted to become a season ticket holder next season.

I go on my own, most of my pals still follow the greed league and think I'm bonkers. I went to Bedworth on my own on Saturday, there are always people who'll stop and have a chat. I'll be in my usual, behind the dug out position tomorrow.

As long as they pay and support the team and get behind the club the more who come the better I don't care who they used to support.
We have a fair few who have baggies season tickets and when they are not playing at the Hawthornes consider the Yeltz as a second club.
I for one like the fact that you can stand, move around during the game, have banter with your own fans, away fans, opposition players and the officials.
How many big club's fans would travel to away games and home expecting to lose if it was a question of by how many just to support the players that turned out. There was more of us a couple of years ago than our opposition bring to the Grove these days. That's support.
You can keep the overpaid professionals. Give me the Yeltz any time.

A couple of years ago I wouldn't have dreamt of going to a game on my own, now I don't really care as I know there will be someone I know in the ground whether its home or away, I went on my own Saturday to Bedworth, that was mainly due to picking my son up after the game otherwise I would of considered the coach, but even the ones you don't know are friendly enough as we all have the Yeltz in common at the end of the day. As much as I enjoy any game the Yeltz are involved in wouldnt it just be great if we could have a good cup run or us being involved in promotion race with the big crowds and the heart racing once again ? I would though sacrifice cup runs for promotion for sure, I think that has to be the aim.
As for support it doesn't bother me who turns up to follow the Yeltz, I respect the ones that have followed them for years and like to learn the history off those people and listen to the stories of exciting previous seasons. I also really respect those that have made the choice from following league football to non league, I know a lot of people still class the Yeltz level as pub football, well some day they will get fed up of being bled dry and give our standard a go and I bet they would enjoy it !

Many people I know call what they've seen at the Hawthorns pub football. Albion have been woeful first two home games. Only watched via stream. Can't justify paying the prices any more. Refuse to line the pockets of the chairman who rarely opens his wallet...
