I remember the days when all matches used to clash with each other. It was called 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon. :-\

It’s a strange one. I suppose they think by moving the kick off time they might be able to attract some neutrals/fair weather fans to the game before being an Easter weekend and then they stay in their bar to watch the FA Cup Semi later? I dunno. Trying to see their logic.

But it’s something that we’ve agreed to as well and I’m not sure why really. It’s not stopping me going, just having to do coach now rather than train but a lot now can’t make it due to commitments in the morning as the many reason people come to non league is for the fact games are 3pm Saturday and not moved around as they are in the higher leagues.

The only benefits could be by playing earlier we could put pressure on Ilkeston and Chasetown if we win as our match will finish before they kick off and also we have an extra couple of hours recovery before playing on Easter Monday against Sutton Coldfield.

Whilst I recognise it is a nuisance for some, others will be ok with it, and I would guess that if we had been at home and done this, a number of people would've said 'great idea' as the logic stacks up.

They're likely to get a few more rather than less and if the clubhouse shows the semi final, they know more people will stay behind.

Why would anyone want to watch Man City play Liverpool yet again? Or United v Chelsea. Again. Or Spurs v Aresenal. Again. Etcetera, etcetera.
Same teams playing each other ad infitum. Isn't this one of the reasons football fans hate the idea of a Super League? ::)

Another reason for rescheduling could be to keep us lot out of the pubs and relativley sober. Not like last time Belper entertained us in the last knockings of the season ;)

I have heard this too as a theory, particularly as the last two times we have took big followings away there has been some ‘incidents’ with some of the yoof causing a bit of bother.

But if that was the case why not just say instead of hiding behind the excuse of moving it to avoid a clash with a TV game?

Only discovered this by chance earlier today talking to a friend who follows Ilkeston.

It is a local game for me and have great memories of the game there in 2014 with Christie who played for Stags.

Just less time for for prematch refreshment. Quite a few decent pubs in Belper.

I for one will enjoy watching the semi-final whilst driving back in my car. Thanks to the powers that be for arranging it for me. Never again will I think of them as incompetent buffoons, incapable of making a logical decision
