Allocations 2017-18

Post by juanillo » 11 Apr 2017, 23:30

Notwithstanding any possible punishment that may be meted out to us, the way things stand, we could go back south again.

I know we have this conjecture every year, but with 3 northern clubs probably coming down from national north then at least one club in the NPL would have to switch to the SPL.

If Corby get relegated, it could leave us possibly going south with or without Stourbr*dge (if they get promoted), though King's Lynn could be switched north if Stourbr*dge did go up.

The projection below has next season's Busico taking place in the SPL.

It's a definite possibility, as it is every season, but it's impossible to say with any confidence until the play-offs are done and dusted at the very least.

Still a lot of questions:

Will we will (if we reach...) the play-offs?
Will Corby go down?
Could Worcester still come down?
The projections assume Leamington will go up? What if they don't? They're borderline NPL (ish).

Those projections assume that EVERY side currently second (calculated on ppg) will win their play-offs, and how often does that happen?

The fly in the ointment of moving us (both of us) South is that we are now established as "a job lot" after the joint switch late in the day three years ago and the huge crowds at the games since then. If one of us is to be moved to the SL (if we are both at this level) then surely both of us will be moved, and that might mean a club going the other way to balance things up.

It will all be - slightly - clearer in a couple of weeks...

On the plus side - 12 grounds in that SL Premier line-up that I've never seen Stour play at!
