Couple of thoughts, having had time to sleep on it.

Matt's got a great deal of experience and knowledge having been involved as a manager and player in the local scene up to Conf level - having played with Telford, Hereford, Stafford and Kiddy plus managing us, Evesham and I think some recent experience coaching youth sides.
I don't know what Trev's experience was before he came to us, but I suspect that this trumps it, so it has to be a move forward.

I'm slightly concerned about the historic FA ban but he's served his time, so we should let him start with a clean slate.

An interesting thought though, it has been presented as a ruthless move by John Hill. The press releases from the club yesterday were pretty clear - disappointed in the season's end - changes needed - Trev out - Matt in.
The reality might not be quite this brutal, but I'm still impressed with this side of JH's ambition.

I suspect we'll have a few more changes before the first friendly to keep us intrigued throughout the summer.

You forgot to mention that Matty also played for us.

In two spells. Once as a young, pacy full back / wing back. And then while player manager, as a man mountain of a centre half.
And from Facebook, it looks like he's even bigger now.
Should we have any shenanigans on the touchline next season, JH will have plenty of room to hide behind him while he's picking up his opponent and flinging him into the pie hut.

He looks like a tanned version of me.

Is John Hill allowed to be disappointed with our season/staff? He'll get a telling off on here because in everyone we trust......

I think that Trev did a fantastic job for us, but if we are to progress Matty may have the better background and insight.

Over the last 2.5 seasons we have largely sought players from a lower level and young players from our current level have largely been an exception. Wiser heads then mine have commented recently that our management team maybe lacked the contacts to get players of the right abilities to fish in the ponds that we need to in order to move on.

I am hoping that Matty can add this to the mix. No disrespect to Trevor in any way, I think he did a great job, but the needs of the club have changed. There is probably two cases of the right person at the right time.

Hi everyone, you may remember me as Trillbys Am Us, I would just like to add my thanks to Tricky Trev for his service to the club and the way he entertained us. Must have been a tough decision by the gaffer but we must trust his judgement in taking the club onwards. Matt Clarke will add a different view as we already know and it is good to have him back. Now for the on field changes....I wait with baited breath #uptheyeltz

I am 150% behind John Hill.

Sad to see Trevor leave as a nice bloke and character and have already thanked him for his involvement in our success for the last 2 1/2 seasons.

Matt Clarke had a good run as manager with Rob Elmes and also was seen at the Grove acting as a scout during his ban. So seems a suitable replacement.

looking forward to next season.
