Re: attendance
Going back to the original comment on the thread it is though provoking that 447 people who attended the game last week didn't this week. Where did they all go? Not all of them would have gone to Smethwick or Bordsley Green. How many were at Anfield with Villa or Blackpool with Wulfs?
The price obviously was double that of last week but is £10 really a lot of money to folk for an afternoons entertainment? Especially when you don't have to pay for the kids. The point Guesty made was fair enough about it being an early round of the cup, but do Halesowen really have so many floating supporters? Maybe we should not only be trying to encourage new supporters but encourage those floating fans to turn up more frequently.
John Hill has spoken recently of 'fine margins' on the pitch and I think it is obviously a fine line and a difficult job to price admission to get people in and be competitive with other teams in the league.
Hopefully we'll have another 400/450+ crowd on Tuesday night.

Re: attendance
Attendance all depends on a few things; Price, Albion & Wolves at home and probably the most crucial thing... How well we're doing.
Now don't get me wrong here, we're doing exceedingly well and we're pushing teams and playing very well no doubt about it. But people who are neutrals and/or glory hunters won't know/care about this. What they will care about is results. Which is why we saw such an increase in attendance from the start of last season to the end of last season/very start of this season. But now we're in a tougher league with tougher opponents, opponents with a hell of a lot more money and experience of the league and of course we're not going to be winning the league, I'd laugh at anyone who thinks that we will. Of course we're not going to be getting the results we did last season!
Basically, what I'm saying, is that glory hunters follow teams doing the best. And we're not going to be the best in this league. However, saying this, we certainly won't be a bad team!
This may all come over as very pessimistic, but it's the truth. How many glory hunters follow mid tabled teams? Well, the clue is sort of in the title really isn't it? None (or very little anyway), they will follow the clubs like FC United that will get to the playoffs or win the league (however saying this, FC United aren't doing particularly well at the moment which just proves my point further as they have seen a slight dip in their attendances).
I think this 3-0 victory will entice a few more people to the Grove. We get a win tomorrow and a few more points on the board by the end of the month I'm sure we'll see an increase in attendance.

Re: attendance
The lower price v Workington would have made a big difference to the attendance as well as the absence of any top flight or Championship games; also cup games aren't necessarily always as well attended these days as league games.
Anyway if you want to see a drop-off in supporters from one week to the next, check out Coventry.
27,306 for Gillingham on their return to the Ricoh Arena last week, followed by just 11,085 for Yeovil at the weekend.

Re: attendance
Most non die hard folk do not care what division we are in.If we were 2 divisions higher or lower it would not make any difference to many people, they just want to see a winning team. I was sure the attendances would be lower this year and could not believe some of the 5,6 and 7 hundred predictions. If we were at the top maybe, but as it is expect a few more around or under 300.

Re: attendance
There is NO doubt whatsoever that regardless of which division we are playing in, the increase in admission price will and probably has had an effect. The floating supporters will just not pay the extra when they can watch elsewhere cheaper.
