The Best Xmas Present Ever

Post by swipey » 22 Dec 2013, 21:12

If you could want anything from your club, it would be for them to be top of the league at Xmas... so thanks.

Considering when I started going down The Grove less than 2 years ago, the crowds have more than quadrupled and that's down to no individual effort so well done all to management, players, backroom staff and people who chip in that don't get mentioned enough - not going to do an egotistical list thing... you know who you all are!

You may also be interested to know that I have had several Facebook DMs concerning people who used to go down The Grove telling me that they're attending the matches again, and enjoying it too, boycotting the PL & Championship games (including season tickets).

Well done Yeltz, we should give ourselves a pat on the back!

Best Xmas pressie we could have wished for!!!

I for one will be getting a season ticket for next year. Regardless of whether we get promoted or not.

This is my first proper season going up the Grove weekly and what has struck me is how friendly and welcoming people have been. Not just fans but players and management.

I don't think the players or staff realise how important and good it is that we as fans get the chance to have a chat after the games. It really does make a very nice difference to the whole football experience.

I know winning and winning 10 home games in a row makes a difference but I'm certain people will be as friendly and talkative if / when we go on a bad run.

Again I know it's easy to say when you are winning, but I don't think half the enjoyment of this season for me is actually about the results. The whole place is brilliant. I was meant to be picking and choosing my Albion games and I planned on going down the Grove whenever an Albion game cost £40 or when we played on Sundays etc.

Now I come every home game, when ever I can. I've not gone down the Albion this year, I don't miss it what-so-ever. This place has drawn me in. So thanks to all. Long suffering fans, current players and staff. Brilliant.

I can only echo the above post, but obviously from a Villa fans viewpoint as opposed to that of a tesco bag.
At half time in the James Grove Lounge the atmosphere was buzzing!
