Pointy end of the season

Big games come thick and fast now in all the divisions and today I noticed ex league side Bury are on their way back. A win against Burscough assured they got promoted from the North West Counties league in front of EIGHT AND A HALF THOUSAND!!!. And the second placed side Lower Breck finished with 106 points. They must be gutted.

I'll never understand why we don't have a 3 up and 3 down system. It really is ludicrous to miss out on promotion with that total.

Also, if you're the third worst team in the league, you deserve to go down.

This has nothing to do with our current season and the fact of having two automatic promotion spots would perhaps be beneficial to us! ;D

I agree regarding the 3 up and down scenario.

My feeling is that it would mean the clubs that suddenly find themselves with lots of cash (ie Bedford, Wrexham etc) could still happily climb the ladder but the other normal clubs would then still have a chance of promotion, along with the playoffs for another place.

The only problem with three up three down is in a pyramid you would need lots more than 3 going down! Wouldn’t you need 6 from the Conference and 12 in total from the 2 North / South leagues if three go up from each league below?

Another belter tomorrow. Kiddy, level on points with Brackley and 2 ahead of Scunthorpe, have Hereford at home. Hereford themselves need points to guarantee the play offs.

And if our league is tight with 4 teams still able to win it, the National League South still have 6 in contention.

And with 1 game to go all 6 can still win it!

...and Truro score 5 to pip Torquay with a 2 better goal difference.
And the Isthmian Prem is even closer. Leaders Billericay won 4-2 today but were leapfrogged by Horsham who scored 5 to win the title by ONE goal.
And in the NLN leaders Kiddy imploded on the last day to hand the title to Brackley.
All mad stuff
