Hednesford Town.

Post by KenR » 25 May 2023, 22:21

Looks like the Pitmen may be finished. Apparently the prospective new owners have pulled out of the deal. The Yeltz had many a battle with them at the old Cross Keys and I believe we also signed the landlord of the Cross Keys pub , outside the ground, a certain Dave Barnett. Its so sad to see any club go under and so I hope they find an answer.

Sad news, never nice seeing something like this happen. They had a nice ground. Does this mean a reshuffle of the league’s? Does another team get a reprieve from relegation?

Ditto this. That's really bad news. Could so easily have been us some years back.

Hednesford finished in 20th place in the Southern Premier Central Division and were thus relegated (arguably you could say to be replaced by us). If the past is anything to go by it's possible that the division they were dropping into will run one team short.

That's really good news for them. They may struggle until the club is properly taken over, but as with ourselves all those years ago, any football is better than none.

How marvellously sporting of you, Kenneth. I too wish them well.
