Well done Salford. What a fantastic performance. I have often wondered why teams dont play with 3 strikers as surely it must make the opposition have to change their system. It clearly worked last night, Notts County simply could not cope with them.

And their good luck continues. After collecting £67500 from the beeb for the first round tie, plus winnings, the televised second round tie on Friday will net them a further £72000 with the possibility of £27000 should they win the tie!!!!

Now that the BBC have latched onto their cup run, they will follow it as far as it goes (or that is the way it has worked out the last few years). Then they will televise all the matches that the team that knocks out Salford play and so on.
On top of the fees the BBC will have paid for the "Class of 92" documentaries, its a nice little earner.
Incidently, Notts County seem to feature quite heavily in early televised rounds over recent years, its the third time in about five years that they have featured. I suppose being the oldest professional team might have influenced this of course.
Still think the best bit of this type of thing was our Mansfield contingent with a "M**s*n Out" placard at the Harrogate Railwaymen vs Mansfield Town match a few years ago!

Best of luck to them.
I'd love to see us have a good cup run, we're a bit overdue!
We've not had the best of luck with draws, granted.
