Good to see some support for small clubs.

Perhaps a re-organisation by the FA to more localised leagues reducing the away travelling costs for clubs would also be a good idea.

I applaud this initiative and I happened to see the current Chairman of my athletics club interviewed on breakfast tv about it this morning. I understand though that it is aimed at much smaller operations than HTFC although the colts and ladies operations might be within the intended scope

I was curious about this, so I did a bit of googling.

Incredibly there are about 300 'sports' listed as eligible, and you really should look at the list in the attached link.

Baton Twirling anyone? no then how about Folk Dancing or how about that popular sport of Hovering

Yes John I thought that, but then I found it under Association Football

And just exactly is wrong with Folk Dancing? We used to practice it in The Shed and many an away ground at one time, to the tune of 'You Were Made for Me' by Freddie and The Dreamers.

There is also nothing wrong with hoovering either - stops the carpets getting grubby.



PS Freddie Garretty now works on the bins in Coventry. Nothing wrong with good honest work on the bins, but Coventry??!!!
