I recall with great fondness and affection that time on a Monday evening I believe we went down to Northwood who were ground sharing with them at the time. Two quite attractive young females entered the ground from the graveyard over the back and came and started randomly talking to me. At half time they went and sat in one of the dugouts only for them to seemingly disappear without trace in the second half! I must say I felt rather shunned at the time! ;D

I remember that night too Wheels, but for different reasons to you.

One reason was that Johnny Bud boarded the coach and loudly announced that "I'm going to run the London Marathon in 2 years" (I think it was the day after that year's race)

Needless to say, 6+ years later, he still hasn't ventured much further than the front door :o

The other reason was that I lost a contact lens half way through the second half and much of the rest was a blur (literally)

Didn't one of Dave Hayward's more wayward shots end up deep in the graveyard too ?

I said I was going to go to London and eat a Marathon!

Unfortunately, they changed the name so it never happened!

The mind boggles at the thought of JB running the London Marathon!!
Also I think you're right about the Dave Hayward shot but fortunately they found another ball so the possibility of a grave situation was avoided! ;D

I don't think I went to that Monday night mayvh but as regards wayward shooting, Steve Pope's penalty miss certainly came into that category
