Re: Euro 2020
Well tonight's the night football fans north and south of the border have been waiting for. Will it be a tactical battle or an all out Premiership style end to end attacking game? Will Southgate make any changes? Will Harry Kane find his shooting boots? One thing's for sure, Scotland will not take a lot of cajoling to get into the spirit of the match, despite being beaten in a spirited display last time out by the Czechs. In my opinion this has all the hallmarks of being a tight affair with neither side willing to give an inch, so, I'm going for a 1-1 draw. Thoughts anyone...........

Re: Euro 2020
I think we'll have too much for them. Scotland will be up for it for sure but if all our players play the 'match' and not the 'occasion' we will beat them comfortably. I suspect Grealish will start even though it would be harsh on whoever he replaces. Need to feed Kane some decent balls tonight as well, he may as well have not been on the pitch against Croatia.
England 2-0 Scotland
England 2-0 Scotland

Pathetic display. That's why we're probably only an average side. I'm not even going to big up Scotland, they just had a better attitude. Not sure where we go from here. We've probably qualified now anyway, none of the big guns will be quivering though will they......

No they won't! No creativity at all and to take off possibly England's best player.......well, mind boggling.andy wrote: ↑18 Jun 2021, 21:57Pathetic display. I look forward to England's next team selection for the Czech Republic.

And quite why Scotland's fans are dancing around and singing I don't know, they were slightly better than a poor side. Big deal. Shows it's all about levels of expectation I guess.

Indeed. Bizarre reaction to probably going out!
Would make the point that in derbies everything goes out of the window though; our record in El Busico when that lot down the road were outperforming us in the league surely speaks to that.

Re: Euro 2020
You make a good point about derbies. But being England the Derby is always bigger for Scotland/Wales/Ireland and it shouldn't be. This happens too often. We are talking about nations with one tenth of our population, Wales don't even have a 'proper' League and Scotland's 'proper' League isn't much better. The difference is they bridge the gap with attitude and a willingness to give everything for the shirt, and fair play to them. We have no leaders spurring us on, keeping the tempo and the passion high. We've had them in the past and we've come close, but now, as I said, average, very average.

I don’t know what you’re moaning about!
I thought it was a marvellous spectacle and probably a dress rehearsal for the final.
Mind you, I had been drinking since lunchtime…

In my pecking order Wales are about the 8th likeliest team to win the Trophy ,England the 12th and Scotland the 20th.Thought England were
shocking better sack the manager and bring in Sean Dyche for the last sixteen(if we were Spain thats what we would do!)Wales have peaked
too soon and the Scots have got to play an improving Hrvesta! Nil Desperandum
