86/87. Beat V*lla. Beat Leamington. And lose to, erm, Oldbury.
Before we got into the Southern League Oldbury were there for a few seasons, had a good side. In 1986 we beat them, after replay, in FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round. 3,600 attended the 2 matches.
True. I'd forgotten they had a decent side at a higher level back then. I always kind of lump them in with all the Banks's sides.
Oldbury were promoted from the Mid Comb to the Southern Lesgue in the 1980s. They went into the Bank's when they left the Southern League later that decade.
Anyone recall their Alf Boerman having a column in the Halesowen News?

Deano's headers-and-volleys-set-yourself-up style flick over his own head and smash vs Wellingborough.
Jason Owen's run and lomp vs someone at The Shed End.
Eldon's wondergoal.
Jack's away against someone in the FA Cup last year, or maybe the year before.
Andy Bradley at Vicarage Road vs Wealdstone.
Have you got a photographic memory? I must have seen all those goals and can't remember any detail of them. I can never remember the build up to a goal by the time I get home.....

I struggle to remember Jason Owen’s. Was it more spectacular than Richard Massey’s long range thunderbolt agsnst Dover?

Les Prosser away at Gresley, the week before the Vase final.
